A good foundation recommendation please?

I have used YSL touché eclat for years but it has now been discontinued.

Can anyone recommend a good alternative? I’m early 40s, blonde and fair skinned, I like a more dewy look rather than a matte finish.

It’s a shame that there aren’t really any department stores these days where you can go and get colour matched and get a free sample.

Hi OP, you could try searching online - there are some websites where you can shade match your current foundation, and it will give you several other options.

I tried this recently when my beloved giorgio armani luminous silk foundation changed formulation, and the l’oreal perfect match dupe is actually pretty good, and about 1/3 the price.

Thanks, I have been looking but there are so many to choose from and I don’t want to make an expensive mistake.

The Georgia Armani one was recommended online but as you say, loads of reviews saying the formula changed.

Never tried YSL, but I use Boots No7 protect and perfect advanced foundation. Medium coverage and SPF 50. Larger boots stores colour match it to your skin and will put it on your face so you can decide 👍

Yes the GA one was great, it was my staple for years but sadly it’s now gone crap.

I would recommend the L’oreal Perfect Match - it’s not expensive so you wouldn’t be throwing away loads. It’s not super heavy, although I do mix it with moisturiser as I prefer a very light look.

A lot of the cheaper foundations are actually really good quality these days.

L'Oréal Perfect Match mixed with Rimmel Multitasker Better than Filters. Stays on all day and looks dewy and fresh. (I mix a drop of the L'Oréal with a small dollop of the Rimmel.)
