Recommendations for soft anti-chafing shorts to wear under summer dresses

whatnextwiththis · 23/04/2026 19:16

Please can anyone recommend some soft anti chafing shorts for under summer dresses? Preferably a cotton mix with a soft gusset and no seams. I used to buy sloggi and they don't make them any more.

I know there have been recommendations on here but the search function is hopeless, so if anyone has a minute to advise I would be very grateful.

TIA

I got some from Primark last year and while I don’t think they had any cotton in them, they were good at stopping me feeling sweaty and unpleasant. They were very good price .
i must look them out for summer

Have a look at Wirarpa on Amazon. They do have seams, but I find them comfortable and they wash well.

These ones from M&S are great. They aren't cotton but I've worn them for a few summers and they've been brilliant.

The snag ones are good.

Has anyone found any low rise anti chafing shorts that sit on your hips? I hate my thighs rubbing together under skirts but I equally hate that snag tights etc. come right up to your waist and over your stomach which makes me feel so uncomfortable especially on hot days.

I’ve had anti chafing bands from John Lewis before that I found more comfortable than shorts.

whatnextwiththis · 24/04/2026 08:15

Thanks I will look at all of these.

Don't get snag tights. Good advertising, but itchy seam running down front and very sweaty.

I tried the M&S ones that get mentioned on here a lot, but found they ride up as you move in exactly the place where the chafing happens, so useless if you want to walk about.

Big bloomers are my favourites, but you do need to size down as they are very generous.

I think both cotton and seam free is a tricky one. I just buy cotton cycling shorts.

Have a look at The Big Bloomers company. I got 3 pairs over a decade ago. I probably wear 1 or 2 pairs a week during the summer months and they’re still going strong. I don’t think they’re on the cheaper end but they are really soft and don’t ride up.

I wear the Wirapa ones from Amazon to sleep in as my fat thighs constantly stick together in bed, they are brilliant.

This shop still sells the Sloggi long pants. I've bought from then and they were fine.

I have ordered some from this site. They appear to be the same as the ones on amazon, but they are cheaper. Hopefully they will be ok. When I went on the "official Sloggi" site they weren't on there. Strange. Thank you.
