Can I start Tret at 0.05%?

I already use retinol so not sure if my skin is used to that and therefore starting lower isn’t worth it? My skin isn’t sensitive. Hubby currently in Turkey so I thought I’d get him to pick me a tube up while there.

Just be prepared for the peeling.

If I did a lower dose would I not peel?

I think with prescription tret at any level you should expect peeling anyway. I don't mind it particularly. You can buffer it by using moisturiser but I personally don't bother. I started on .025 I think. Im now on the highest level and it still peels so its probably a bit too strong really. I don't use it daily.

Hi OP. If you're already using retinol consistently & your skin isn't sensitive, starting at 0.05% is reasonable. Even non-sensitive skin can purge/flake during the initial adjustment to tret so starting every other night/3x a week for the first few weeks is still worth doing.

I started at 0.1. I’ve had no ill-effects.

Thanks both, yes will start one or two nights a week and build up.

I’ve started at 0.006 ! So much lower. Also used retinol before. Skin looking so much better already at that %! It’s only been a month
