Help - facial asymmetry

asymmetrywoes · 18/04/2026 18:37

I'm starting a bit of a glow up after feeling run down and stressed the last few years. I went onto a virtual makeup thing and I was HORRIFIED. My face suddenly looks so awful - really asymmetrical with one side of my face looking droopier and puffier! It always been a bit asymmetrical I would say but I look terrible! Has anyone else had this? Is it fixable?

I think you need to make an appointment with your GP, you might have developed a mild condition.

I think I was just due on my period! Also need to lose a bit of weight so I’ve gone on a diet and I’m drinking lots of water which will hopefully help.

Following because I also have this.

I didn’t think any faces were symmetrical

TheChosenTwo · 22/04/2026 22:05

My face is so unsymmetrical it’s unreal. Not noticeable to look at but the other day my teams video flipped itself and I couldn’t work out what was wrong with my face for bloody ages - my nose was veering off to one side! I’m so used to seeing it ‘as is’ that now I realise it sort of veers off to the other side naturally.
I think faces in general aren’t symmetrical though. Well that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Mine is horrendously unsymmetrical but always been that way. My jaw is longer on one side than the other, I’ve a higher eyebrow and eye on one side. My nose also veers off to one side! I asked chat gpt to make me symmetrical and I was unrecognisable!

Mydoghealsmyheart · 22/04/2026 23:41

My face is the same, it’s awful! I never had this when I was younger but definitely hit my fifties and the asymmetry is embarrassing. I wear glasses usually but saw a photo of myself without glasses and I was truly shocked at how severe it seems. One eye, eyebrow and ear are higher than the other side whereas my mouth droops on the opposite side. It’s so depressing. I have no idea why it happens but can only assume it’s something to do with the ageing process 😢

I think most people’s faces are asymmetrical to a certain degree, unless they are models. Mine certainly is. I would certainly try and make peace with it. Most models aren’t particularly happy
