Help! One week to look fabulous!

ScoobyAndScrappy · 16/04/2026 19:59

Hello everyone

I have to attend an event next week where I need to look fabulous.

Can you tell me what you would do to look and feel amazing in the time frame of a week?

I do believe that if I feel good I will look good and vice versa.

I would be grateful for all any advice :)

Drink lots of water, get lots of sleep, do some exercise to get the circulation going. Wear an outfit you feel good in.

A HydraFacial (it’s a brand of facial with lymphatic drainage and exfoliation) always gives a glow for a day or two afterwards. Not cheap.
Also, any chance of a professional blow dry on the day? Good hair is such a confidence boost

RubyFatball · 16/04/2026 20:02

Get a haircut and fresh colour, if that’s your thing. Get sleep and drink plenty of water, no booze. Facial if you can afford it, or a home one. Do three sweaty workouts and three yoga classes in the week. Exfoliate everything. Get your hands and feet done. CCS cream for your feet. Spend time relaxing and on things that make you smile. Put on your favourite outfit. Spray tan?

ClutteredPalace · 16/04/2026 20:03

Haircut, facial and invest in some nice underwear and a new outfit that made me feel amazing.

RubyFatball · 16/04/2026 20:04

Ooh new underwear is a good one. I just had a bra fitting (first one in years) and am now in a completely differeNt size with considerably perkier boobs.

ScoobyAndScrappy · 16/04/2026 20:04

Thanks everyone-keep 'em coming.

I have booked in a blow dry on the day :)

The Hydra Facial is out of my price range unfortunately Sad but it looks fab.

I have booked a manicure as well-I will go with a very very light pink/nude. I feel embarassed to say it is a funeral that I am going to in case you think I am being vain. I have my reasons why I want to look my best I promise

Good for you! Absolutely no need to justify yourself for wanting to feel good, no matter the reason.
Bouncy blow dry, nails, spray tan, cut down on what I’m eating for a few days.

ScoobyAndScrappy · 16/04/2026 20:23

Thank you JMSA-that's kind of you to say Flowers

I do feel guilty as it seems really frivolous/disrespectful because of the occasion but I really do want to feel as confident as I can. It will be one less one thing to worry about if I can manage to look half decent!

I 100% get it!

nzeire · 17/04/2026 09:37

brow appt
teeth whitening, also buy a lip stain, tints lips naturally and make white teeth look bettee

big scrub on the day, de fluff everything, slather on the moisturiser and maybe a few tanning drops in there

good to get a blow dry, glad you have that booked, and nails, fab!

new undies, new earrings, a spritz of something yummy and you’re good to go

rescue remedy / pastilles
tissies

RCMN26 · 17/04/2026 09:42

When I can be bothered I work from head to toe:

-hair cut/clean/styled (I also just started using Sol de janeiro leave in conditioner as I love the smell)

-face - keep it well moisterised/exfoliated etc and apply a natural looking fake tan. Eyebrows shaped and neat and I always use my ‘best’ makeup anyway (I do find the better quality the better it looks). For this occasion nice natural makeup but done well. spritz with urban decay all nighter spray to keep it on all day.

-skin - body lotion every day, fake tan, keep it soft and smelling lovely

-nails - manicured/shaped/classy colours

-shave/wax all over!

-exfoliate feet and paint in a nice bright colour. Even when I’m not showing my feet I feel better if they are done

-good underwear and an outfit you feel confident in

-signature perfume

-jewellery that complements your skin tone

Don’t feel bad OP - both me and my mother got our hair done the day before my dad’s funeral.

After months of caring for him before he died, we just wanted to look presentable on the day.

FlorenceLawrence · 17/04/2026 10:06

Here's my list:
Shave/exfoliate then a spray tan (not too dark or orange!)
Gorgeous smelling moisturiser all over
Manicure
Hyaluronic acid face mask followed by good night cream the night before
Brand new outfit or trusted old outfit that I feel amazing in
Hair dye/deep mask treatment
Practise good posture - it works wonders

ScoobyAndScrappy · 17/04/2026 10:19

You are all fabulous-thank you so much for all your tips and hints Flowers

Nothing to add to PP’s great tips but just wanted to say that you have no need to feel guilty.
You just want to feel good and at ease with yourself.
