I haven't been able to get a picture of it yet but what Camilla wore for the King's speech to Congress may be my favorite yet. It's another white/cream dress (or coat) trimmed in black or navy. She and the King also seemed to be having a really good time meeting and greeting the members of Congress. He looked good too in his pinstripe suit, and the speech was, in my opinion, just right.

Is it a re-wear of her VE day outfit?

A white coat trimmed with black blanket stitches?

Lunde · 28/04/2026 21:18

This is the VE day outfit - I think it's the same as the one she wore to congress

Yes, that's it. The white coat with the blanket stitches. I really like it.

BasiliskStare · 28/04/2026 21:43

Well spotted @Lunde and @CarolinaInTheMorning .I like the blanket stitch coat too. I think she doing us proud so far. I even liked the pink Dior , although I don't think the pocket flaps sat quite right.

I hope she plays a blinder at the state dinner. I loved the Dior gown she wore on a state visit to France - here

KC speech was good. I too like QC coat.

CarolinaInTheMorning · 28/04/2026 21:52

Here is a picture of the upper part of the coat during the speech to Congress. This article also contains some interesting information about the various brooches that she has worn for this visit.

She is getting some really good press coverage here in the States. The king, as well, of course.

Queen Camilla's Historic Art Deco Brooch Nods to the Very First Royal State Visit to the U.S.

The bauble she wore to King Charles’s address to Congress is a meaningful tribute to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.

I agree @BasiliskStare- that blue Dior is probably my favourite thing that Camilla’s ever worn - she looked amazing! 💙

I agree 100%. That is my all-time favorite as well.

chesterelly1 · 28/04/2026 22:48

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved all of Camilla’s looks but is there a reason for such a pale neutral theme? Maybe we’ll see a bit of red or blue tonight, and maybe an American designer - Oscar de la Renta caped gown would be fab.

CarolinaInTheMorning · 29/04/2026 01:26

Neutral no longer. Deep pink by Fiona Clare. I think it is beautifully cut and very flattering.

The gown is nice but I don't like the heavy necklace.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 29/04/2026 06:43

The gown is nice but I don't like the heavy necklace.

I think it’s a good amount of bling whilst avoiding a tiara that might not work in the White House. Anyway in the US, more is more 😆

I’m not that keen on Melania’s dress. It’s a bit meh in colour and I don’t really like the origami stuff going on at the front. I like it better than the one she wore to the state banquet here though. The belt on that made it look like she had a bare midriff

eta the necklace had found its way from a former Duchess of Kent via Victoria to…Queen Mary! No wonder it’s very bling 😂

Maireas · 29/04/2026 07:39

Ah, more of Granny's Chips. I'm not sure that the necklace matched the dress, I would have preferred one of the diamond ones, but hey, at least it's being worn.
I've liked most of Cam's outfits on this trip, the Dior coat is my favourite.

BasiliskStare · 29/04/2026 07:46

Camilla's dress isn't up there with the navy Dior for me , but I thought the colour was good and the cutaway bodice was very flattering. I liked it . I think the necklace was amethyst , although in photographs it looks like sapphires , so it way not have looked quite so heavy in real life. I do wish she'd gone for a tiara though. Perhaps not out of defence for Independence , but come on Camilla , we want to see the jewels .

I'm not a fan of dresses which stand up by themselves at the front but other than that I liked Melania's and can see why it's been described as a bit Jackie Kennedy. Agreed , though , way better than the one she wore to BP.

Sidebeforeself · 29/04/2026 07:52

Cams dress.. perfect . Agree she would have been better of wearing a smaller diamond necklace.
Melanie’s dress. Adore it as I love anything origami style. However she didn’t need the gloves

gingercat02 · 29/04/2026 07:53

I agree Maireas, that necklace and dress don't work. The necklace is something else! I imagine QM wore it with a crown, chandelier earrings, a couple of broches and a few strings of pearls, just to lift it a bit.

deeahgwitch · 29/04/2026 08:02

Camilla’s dress is nice.
The necklace is ghastly with it.

Melania’s dress didn’t need the gloves, I agree @Sidebeforeself

Possibly a stomacher and a massive choker.
This is a woman who wore a tiara to dinner every single evening.
Respect 🤘

Love it @gingercat02

That’s the “small” version of the necklace too, it can also be worn with amethyst drops! It’s one of the oldest pieces in the Royal collection too, going back to Queen Victoria's mother, so likely would have been worn before some of the very first US ambassadors to the United Kingdom, which was a nice touch.

I did think it was fighting a bit with the neckline of the dress though. Loved each individually!

themessygarden · 29/04/2026 08:28

Love Camilla’s dress, thought the necklace was atrocious with it, but thanks to @Serenster explanation of the history behind it, it now changes my whole perspective on that necklace 😀. She is looking amazing this trip.

I really don’t like the dress Melania wore, overly fussy and I didn’t think it was flattering at all.

Charles is doing amazing on this trip, he seems to be going down a storm, he looks very well.

Cassiope · 29/04/2026 09:03

Loved the necklace, loathed the pink dress.

eggandonion · 29/04/2026 09:10

It is certainly a statement necklace. But the dress and necklace combination seemed wrong.
Melania seems different this time round. Not relaxed...but more sociable? She smiles more. I wonder what goes on behind the scenes in the Trump household. I imagine it's a bit like Dallas.
