I think I've mentioned it before but Alexia is studying civil engineering at UCL, which seems quite a practical choice of degree for a princess. Perhaps she wonders around Huis ten Bosch telling Wax what needs doing to reinforce the walls etc!

I was just coming on to post a whole load of Max pictures. She has been really busy of late, first they were visiting Washington. Then Kings day (where the wonderful skating photos are from). And the corps banquet (though I think that was discussed previously)

Interesting that there is a lot of colour blocking (is that what its called? I was thinking monochrome, but that is just black/white is it not?). I like it.

The Dior dress is objectively lovely except it’s not as flattering as the white with black embroidery, I think. It looks a bit lumpy round the middle.

I wish Camilla was in slightly brighter day clothes- I think she looks best in colours.

The white embroidered outfit looked lovely on the news report, though. It moved beautifully and was obviously an excellent fit and cut. Obviously something that looks better in real life!

Melania favours those large, flat brimmed hats, nice suit though and Cams nice in pastel. Although expecting rain.

Camilla was gently beating time with her left hand to the music of the US Armed Forces anthems. Lovely and charming small gesture.

I really think Willem fell on his feet when he met Max.
I hope he realises it and isn’t having affairs like some of his fellow Royals.

Both ladies looking great today, but Melania has the edge for me! I don’t love the hat, but it’s very ‘her’ and the skirt suit is beautifully fitted

Loved the embroidery on Camilla's dress.

Both Melania's skirt suits have been beautifully tailored. The jacket of the buttery yellow one was slightly different, I thought, with short lapels so that the double buttons could finish at bust level. Seems risky, but it fitted well and was clearly well cut, so it actually worked rather well. I think it's the best tailored double-breasted women's jacket I've seen - I'd been more or less assuming that for db to work for a woman it needed to be oversized, slightly androgynous and a bit louche.

The hats, though - does she stand in front of her mirror with a spirit level?
