I assumed it was a Bottega Veneta - based on the texture, no other factor!

You could be right, it has the distinctive BV weaving. Love the colour of it.

I think his 1966 suit was not his best look.
I rather liked Anne's yellow mini dress in 1970, though!
Diana's famous ball gown is lovely.

That photo of Diana and Nancy Regan 😮 Diana was thin in those days, Nancy is tiny.

Camilla seems to have changed into a cream (I think) dress with black embroidery for tea at the White House. I can’t get a good view of it on the photos on the BBC feed and I just missed her walking in 😬

The experts on twitter say it’s a BV Intrecciato small leather bag, if it helps?

And here’s a close up of Camilla’s brooch - very diplomatic!

Here Camilla's cream dress (dress with coat ? ) with embroidery , and she's got the brooch on again.

I do think by and large Camilla has nailed "queenly dressing"

I'm too distracted trying to lipread Donald 😉.
It does look nice though. So far, so appropriate.

I'm distracted by the fact that someone who appears from the back to be Lieutenant Colonel Johnny, or someone who looks a lot like him, is in the royal party.

I like what Camilla is wearing. Charles is very dapper as usual.

themessygarden · 27/04/2026 22:09

Melania’s lemon suit is gorgeous.

Melania’s lemon suit is gorgeous.

That pale yellow was everywhere in town last weekend. From budget high street to high end department store.

Maireas · 27/04/2026 22:15

That's a lovely suit, lemon yellow.

Melania rarely puts a foot wrong fashion wise IMO.Apart from that weird graffiti coat.

deeahgwitch · 27/04/2026 22:47

Love the pink on Camilla but I don’t like the belt.
The white embroidered outfit was lovely too. Who is it by I wonder.
I’m not keen on Melania’s yellow jacket. It’s too trussed up imo.

It is Johnny in full uniform. Is that Yvette Cooper too?

And the Belloq costume. And the pith helmet.

Other than that it's fairly standard skirt suits and I don't think she has the flair (among other things) of some of her predecessors as First Lady.

Yes there's something weird and overly boxy about the fit of the jacket.

SqueakyDinosaur · 28/04/2026 00:17

I know it's a State visit and all that, but surely I'm not the only one who thinks it wasn't really necessary for Camilla to change out of the pink Dior, costing thousands, into the white embroidered outfit, no doubt also very expensive, after presumably a couple of hours wear? It's not like she flew in the pink and needed a shower...

You’re not the only one!

I think it’s Anna Valentine. I thought she looked nice. Was that a Diet Coke she was holding at the garden party?

I read she struggles with travel - the heat and jet lag.

PoppySeedBagelRedux · 28/04/2026 07:44

And we’ll likely not see the Dior again either. I think Catherine only wore her Chanel suit once, in France.

Cassiope · 28/04/2026 07:51

Well twenty minutes of pale pink outfit is plenty in my book?

Common sense would suggest a pale pink proper coat over the embroidered dress instead of a full outfit change, but perhaps the overt extravagance of lots of outfit changes is part of the charm offensive? Because Donald is worth it, to borrow a phrase...

Edited

I agree about the charm offensive. My mum always used to say ... 'If you've really got to do something you don't want to do, then do it with good grace - no whining or whinging'. I think C&C will nail this trip.

Just when you thought you couldn’t love Max any more here she is on ice skates for the King’s Day celebrations…
