How do full-time workers manage weekday-only hair appointments?

I work Mon-Fri, recently moved house and tried a local salon. Hairdresser was nice, but made a point that she only worked 1 Saturday a month if necessary for those that work. I thought a mobile hairdresser might be more flexible but she doesn't work any weekends but offers a slightly later midweek option- once a month. Her reasoning was also for people that work.

I did years of shift work and appreciate many people don't want to work weekends, but surely there are people getting their cut that work full time? I already colour it myself so its just the odd trim and bow dry I want. What do others do? Should I just keep trying local places?

I pick a day when I am working from home, then either choose an evening appointment, or take a long lunch break (the salon is very close to home). And I book ahead.

I think if she's getting enough work not to need to do weekends, good luck to her, but it would be unusual for most salons not to offer weekend appointments, so I'm sure you can find one if that's what you need.

Fwiw I prefer not to waste a Saturday in the hairdressers, so go on a midweek evening. My male colleagues go in their lunch break.

OP I'm also in a coastal town in the SE.
My salon is open Saturday and Sunday, and also open late on Friday evening.

I always have the same stylist.
I book my next appointment when I pay for the current one.

I go after work and book it months in advance. Wouldn’t waste annual leave or a Saturday on hair!

i wouldn’t go to a place that didn’t open on weekends. My hairdresser is open late on Thursday and they open Saturday and Sunday.

They do a fast blow dry in under half an hour so I often get that at lunchtime if WFH. Reply to emails or have some work time if needed. It’s extremely efficient and I would never take AL for it.

My hairdresser used to be in his salon from 7am getting ready for the day, he'd do my hair without speaking to me, give me a coffee then send me off to the station.
