“I never ‘FEEL’ stylish. Please help me with an outfit for my birthday dinner in a luxury hotel. Vinted options a bonus. Thank you!

Surprise birthday trip to celebrate my birthday, but what do I wear?

Olive colouring, 5ft 2, size 6 bottoms/8-10 top/dress. Don’t like ditsy or animal prints. Size 3.5/4 shoes.

I want to feel stylish.

Happy with cost effective Vinted.

A bit panicked, too much choice and hopeless at putting outfits together.

Heeeelp me please!

Do you mean stylish in the sense that you're wearing yourself, or stylish to mean fashionable or pretty or smart.

I love watching Andreasfashiongallery on YouTube. She will put together a frilly dress, a belt and necklace and look so different to the original. I'd happily wear her type of look if I went anywhere suitable.

Fell walking? Spa weekend? Michelin star restaurant? Horse riding? What will you be doing?
And what does stylish mean to you in whatever context it is? What do you see people wearing that you think is stylish?

👍 ok
Where have you looked? Would you prefer dress, separates? Do you want to be glam, casual, what styles do you like? No point us suggesting one style or brand if it's the opposite of what you like.

I got this today with some matching trousers! I’m a size 8 and 5’7.

I’m trying to add a photo but can’t figure out how to!

Just some inspiration. The more I suggest, the more I will end up with the same as I usually wear!

Definitely no ‘fast fashion’. Prefer quality fabrics and make. Prefer good quality second hand to cheap poorly made clothing.

You do realise I can’t / won’t look through the whole of Vinted for you?

I could suggest current, mainstream brands that sell stylish clothes. Then you could look for those brands on Vinted.

Anything more would seem unreasonable to me.

That’s fine.

I often look at Vinted and often see some really great buys…except for when I really need to buy for a specific occasion.😉

If anyone has already noted anything, that would help. I often share ideas (Vinted and new online) with others.

If the weather in the North for your dinner is anything like it is today in the SE, this might be perfect - and you’d be getting a bargain:

How about something like this, silk blend midi (might be maxi on you) and in the sale. Hard to know from what you have said what you might like, so feel free to shoot this down:

She said in the title: It's a dinner in a nice hotel. Not sure why she'd be going to Milan or fell walking for that ...

Great brand, love cord and the colour. I don’t like the neckline. Vinted have quite a few options, nothing quite right at the minute, but I will keep an eye, thanks.

I feel that particular dress maybe a bit wintery for next week, with temperatures 16-18 degrees and sunny.

I think formal trousers and a lovely blouse/top/jacket often tend to look more stylish for this sort of thing op.

People tend to revert automatically to looking for a dress (I think because as little girls we thought of party dresses!) but in fact I think that is often where things start to go downhill and women can easily end up looking a bit "mumsy." Dresses are often also more problematic when it comes to the way they "hang" and what looks good from the front is less good from the back etc.

I do love a proper ball dress, but looking for semi-formal dresses I think can be where the search goes wrong.

Already acknowledged I missed the hotel part (they do have them in Milan). It's a general frustration in my part at the lack of info in OPs on S&B

I love it, very stylish! but yes, too long.

Sadly , I don’t suit bias cut dresses either. I don’t know, they cling in all the wrong places on me.

@dicentra365 - also love the AllSaints dress.
