Kings Garden Party

I have been invited to a kings garden party at Buckingham Palace and want an amazing outfit to wear but despite hours of scrolling I can't see anything.

I'm a short 12/14 and have a large bust I'd love a sleeve and something classic. Where should I be looking or if anyone has any suggestions that would be amazing!

I love the Suzannah London look but way out of budget for a couple of hours!

Does the below dress look smart enough and what colour hat would you go with?

When I went to one last year, the outfuts rabged from office wear, to full "Mother if the Bride" type outfits.. to what looked like an orange tracksuit with white trainers.

That dress will not look out of place.

(We were at Holyrood not BP but be aware it was a lot if standing around, I actually got quite cold despite it being a warm day abd my feet ached! Food was lovely, but needed dinner after)

I’d agree about feet. Don’t wear thin heels as you’ll be standing on grass, nor a strappy shoe if it’s been wet anyone near as everyone walking on the grass will draw up the damp.
A hat gets bloody annoying in the crowd, a fascinator type being better - but a hat isn't compulsory at all.
I’d also recommend a fold up umbrella if the weather is in doubt in any way, so maybe a bag that could fit one.
It’s suggested that the more a dress catches the eye, the more likely a royal may (subliminally) stop and talk.
It is very special, you do get to walk inside the Palace, and the organisation of the catering is awesome. Enjoy!!!!

I haven’t been to a garden party but my office is right by Green Park station. The amount of women I see hobbling back, barefoot wearing husband / whatever’s jacket because it’s been wet and cold….

Why not rent something from Rixo or similar?

I went to a BP garden party some years ago, a freezing June day! It was for the WI anniversary, lots of ladies up from the country in thin little frocks going blue with cold! I was wearing a lined wool trouser suit, and I was still chilly, the wind was whistling across the vast lawn!

The dress you posted looks perfect OP! A light pink hat to pull out the highlight in the pattern would look fab.

I looked at rental sites but couldn't see anything and couldn't work out what I'd do if it arrived and didn't fit!

Thanks all, if I like the dress when it arrives I'll look for pink accessories and i have a jacket that will work if freezing!
