Im in my 60s and pedal pushers as we used to call them in the 80s or capri pants can look a bit naff and old fashioned.
Id like to wear them as I have decent ankles but was wondering if there is a more up to date modern version? Any ideas?

From the terminology I wonder if you’re American? These days I think a cropped trouser is what you mean. How tall are you? I’m 5’3” and find that some shops sell very long trousers and I have to have them hemmed even if they are supposed to be cropped.

Yes those are capri trousers, for some reason they don't look great on older people. I need something a bit more modern but I don't know what I'm looking for 😅

I'm from the UK.

Have a look at all the cropped trousers here:

Though if you want highly fashionable you may want to browse here:

There are a few examples amongst the wide and long. And the styling is consistently great. (Obviously you’ll adapt to your own budget.)

As my posts crossed yours, why not have a look at those sites and see if there are any shapes there you prefer? (You don’t have to buy them - just consider the looks.) The M&S pair aren’t actually nasty, but I think there’s a danger of them looking safe to the point of drabness, in the black, and ‘clueless’ in the stripes.

(NB - we’re the same age, so … )

Here, also:

I think it’s generally a good idea to look at a range of brands and sites …

I think the wider legged styles look much nicer and are definitely more modern.

Yes I had a look at the sites you posted thank you. I do actually like the balloon pants with a fitted top. They are a lot like harem pants which I love to wear in summer.
