Extra extra/Ultra wide shoes

In the latest dispiriting adventure to a Click and Collect shop, the shoes I had bought wouldn't go over my bunions

I bought the extra wide size and I couldn't get them past my toes

Pavers. Nowhere fashionable. Just Pavers.

I've got a refund, but where do I go to find ultra wide, smart black shoes?

Clarks only go up to an E fitting and many websites are scams, with the same shoddy, Chinese toot being sold under a series of guises

If anyone else has this issue, where do you go for shoes?

My wide fit are M&S but i suspect my feet aren’t as wide as yours. I will ask the volunteers at work where they buy theirs

I’m pretty sure Evans and Simply Be do extra wide fit shoes so may be with looking there.

They tend to be cheap and nasty and I'm not able to fit the Orthotics in as well

Agree with the cheap and nasty finds - was so annoyed to find some great size and fit sandals from jd sports but they’re so shoddy.

Hotter do extra wide shoes. You might be best finding an Outlet that sells a few brands so that you can try them on.
You could also Google any specialist independent retailers. There’s a family run one in our town that sells specialist sizes and does fitting.

Have you looked into barefoot shoes? BarefootBrit has a great blog setting out various brands and which are better for wide or high volume feet.

The trouble is, most “wide” fit shoes are wide in the mid foot and still squash the toes to a point (which is what in most cases causes bunions in the first place).

I would definitely recommend looking into barefoot shoes and trying to help your feet recover as much as possible.

Be lenka do some nice smart options. Zara, next and H&M have all started selling barefoot shoes so hopefully they might become more mainstream and more options available.

Op you need shoes with a wide toe box. If your tie joint bunions are where the shoe narrows then you probably need longer shoes.

DB wider fit shoes/boots ...I bought some great mauve boots from here last year, I have notoriously difficult feet and these were brilliant.
Some come with up to 4 removable insoles, so you can decide how many you need to give your toes/bunions extra room.

Op look at Sole Bliss and Sargasso and Grey, both of whom make shoes specifically to fit bunions, where the foot is wide in a different way from many wide fit shoes. Most wide fittings are designed for chubby feet, so the shoe is also wide at the ankle and less wide at the toes. I have naturally wide feet, with a high instep, so I need width and depth at the toe box but not at the ankle, it’s hard to find shoes. Probably what I need is similar to you, my friend with bunions buys from both the places above and suggested them to me , I am deciding on a style.

My feet are actually wider thsn yours due to a collapsed arch (ex dancer broken in with blocks).
I get extra wide fit from new look. Not the wide fit they have an extra wide fit section which are cushioned

I hate footwear shopping as I always struggle to find anything that I can even get my feet into! I have extremely wide feet and also need room for custom orthotics. I’ve accepted that I will never have a pair of conventionally stylish shoes.

Yes agree - posted a couple of links for those above. Very customisable. I have a similar foot circumference to length ratio.

Fitville are also a brand worth checking, they fit my son who has even wider feet than me. But not for anything smart. If you do look at them, order via Amazon.

Hotter do wide and extra wide. I 've not tried cosyfeet shoes but folk do recommend them for wide feet.
