I want to look cool, elegant and pretty! Am dreading the heat and anything synthetic fabric is just going ro be unbearable.

Dont particularly like my upper arms or back showing so strapless/strappy dresses are out and I would prefer a natural fabric in a lighter (but not bridal obvs!) colour.

A little bit sexy would be nice - not talking attention-seeking but not frumpy either. And preferably floaty maxi although wouldn't rule out a midi.

I like Cos too, & the dresses you posted. I'd probably consider them a bit daytime - but as I said before, the right accessories are everything! And if the OP prefers simple & crisp & minimal, they could be just right.

I am a big fan of a kaftan dress in a beautiful lightweight fabric. They're great in the heat. They don't cling anywhere - including the armpits. They are floaty & sexy (IMO!). This one is fine unlined silk, & comes in other colours including pale pink, khaki or pale yellow - but I like the cream, red or black best. (And there is no chance that wearing a cream kaftan with snakes on it would be confusing for anyone wondering who the bride is ...)

Not in my opinion. A beautiful clutch bag & metallic flat sandals & you'd be the coolest guest there (in both senses!).

OP I often wear tops and skirts as I am a bit of an odd shape so it’s easier than dresses. You could wear a long cotton skirt with a floaty top or shirt.

In fact, there are quite a lot of silk/silk mix LK Bennett ones in your size that are really well-reduced on Otrium. The majority of them are perfectly pretty wedding guest dresses, but I find them a bit too conventional (Kate Middleton) for my taste.

If it's a separate slip I'd remove it. Maybe even if it's sewn in! It depends on how much it's lined & how fitted it is, but best to minimise or avoid entirely.

They’re not tight. I’ve got several in different colours (and had more previously) and I always wear them on holiday.
Plus the plisse fabric means they don’t crease

@OnAMatOopEre Vinted do a “search by photo” feature which is invaluable for sourcing stock which you’ve seen elsewhere. As you’re looking for a “once and done” outfit, Vinted really is fantastic.
