Hair ideas

I'd love a change of hairstyle as have had the same cut for years.
I'm mid 40s, hair is long (mid back) and thick, in good condition, naturally a dark blonde but get it highlighted and toned every 3 months to a lighter, ashy blonde. Some greys but not noticeable. It's fairly straight and can get a decent curl/wave when I can be bothered.

A change would be lovely but I'm stuck as to what..... would like to keep some length (no bob) but not sure if I could keep up with a fringe. Is my only option a shorter length?

Hi. With thick long hair in good condition you actually have a lot of options beyond just going shorter. Long layers would give you movement & a fresh feel without sacrificing length, especially flattering in the mid 40s as it softens around the face. A curtain fringe is worth considering too if a full fringe feels like too much.
