I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what to wear with these trousers? Problem is I have a c section belly that I want to hide, so although I think it would look good with a fitted top, I don’t want to feel exposed. At the same time I don’t want everything to be baggy. I am 5 foot 8

Or a longer waistcoat

If you look at the navy version in your link, the model is wearing a boxy cream top, which looks nice.

Have you tried some shapewear? I’ve got a couple of pairs of Sloggi high waisted support knickers from Amazon, which work well underneath tummy skimming trousers. I’m quite slim but do have a C section overhang.

I agree about a boxy top. Uniqlo normally do a good boxy t-shirt.

Thank you will have a look at these suggestions:)

Never tried shapewear! I think this might be a good idea

They are not straight leg op. They are tapered. Straight leg are straight all the way down, tapered are narrow at the ankles. So the shape is like an inverted triangle.

Yeah you’re right thanks. That’s ok too- I don’t mind that look

Ok but if you are worried about your tum, straight leg will be much more flattering. And tapered is really dated now.

You might be right. They have some nice wide leg ones? Or is straight better?

Wide leg is more current but straught is also current and I think would work better for you . Wide tends to work better if you have a slimmer mid section, straight gives you a a straight uo and down look, and you can wear tops easier to cover your tum if it makes you more comfy.

id go straight. It sort of elongates and disguises. Tapered emphasis you’re bigger in the middle.

Great advice above on shape but just to say I love tapered and always thought they were a timeless style.

am afraid not, they are very dated, it’s wide, straight, cigarette now. Has been for some time. But people should wear whay they wish and what suits them.

however with a bit of a tum then tapered gives the wrong shape, as its whole design is to make you wider at the top than the bottom, so it just empahasis any extra weight on your mid section.

if you want to streamline your silhouette and have a more flattering look if heavier round the middle straight is better, you’re more balanced. If you’ve a small waist and tummy then wide is better as you really need more fitted tops to balance them out.
