Anybody that has had Botox, when you had it the first time did your eyelids go really heavy? How long did it take to go back to normal?

No they didn't.

do you mean they've dropped or literally feel heavy?

thenightsky · 06/04/2026 16:34

Yes. But only the first time. I took photos and when I went back 4 months later for more, I explained what had happened and showed the aesthetics lady the pic. She adjusted the position of the jabs and I've never had it happen again.

audhdandme · 06/04/2026 16:35

They shouldn’t feel heavy unless they have injected you in the wrong place

Parsleyforme · 06/04/2026 16:37

No I haven’t had this. My forehead and eyebrows felt very heavy but not my eyelids. One of my friends had that thing where one eye drooped but I think that’s quite rare

Ffsberyl · 06/04/2026 16:38

No. I’ve been having it for years, never had heavy eyes or eyelids or forehead.

Mich1986 · 06/04/2026 17:36

So the bit in between the eyelid and the eyebrow feels lower and heavy. It is even luckily. I had it done 9 days ago.

Yes I did have this the first time. Even with a good doctor. I think I’m quite sensitive to Botox and need a much lighter dose. So I tell them to go light!

It could also be incorrect placement. I only get it very high in my forehead now (so by the hairline ) and on frown lines and high up on crow’s feet. Nowhere else and not in the middle of my forehead

Delatron · 06/04/2026 17:47

Sounds like brow drop. From a too heavy dose.

SuperMarioToadPrincessPeach · 06/04/2026 18:08

No, never.

MildlyAnnoyed · 06/04/2026 19:05

Not normally but someone else did them last time & it did on one side. I can’t leave without only presume he injected in the wrong place

StephensLass1977 · 06/04/2026 20:17

I've had forehead Botox twice (I don't think I needed it there, looking back, it's my lower face which is more of an issue) and both times I had a really tight, heavy, pulling feeling in my forehead. It wasn't agonising or anything, but very uncomfortable, and I never got Botox again.

Lauren0902 · 06/04/2026 20:53

I didn’t the first couple of times, then it happened twice in a row so I don’t get it anymore - same qualified practitioner with decades of experience (even before it became fashionable) it’s probably a brow lift of upper eyelid lift that I’m needing now

YourMauveShark · 06/04/2026 21:10

Yes mine did both times , it made my eyes look smaller if you get what I mean. As the botox wore off it returned to normal and my eyes widen up again. I assumed this was normal but im not certain and may depend on how eyes are start with. It changed how I looked and even though a had a smooth forehead I wasn't as pretty if you see what I mean because my largish eyes are my best feature.

Yes exactly this! My eyes look smaller and my eyebrows are lower. Im liking the smooth forehead, but I’m not liking the heavy feeling and that my eyelids now look a bit hooded.

If you got loads in your forehead this can happen, it will wear off relatively quickly. I've had Botox for years and as I got older this starting happening so my doctor just goes higher up and it never happened again. Should feel looser in a couple of weeks.
