Boob or bust

I’ve measured myself at home and coming in as a 30-e.
I got a bra in this size but it is so so tight. Do I try a 32D?

Is there any way you can get to a professional bra fitter, in-person? Nothing beats a properly fitted bra! A trained fitter would be able to ascertain exactly how the bra is too tight and let you know your true size.

If not, I believe Bravissimo have some guidance on their website on how to measure yourself - and have a chat function in working hours. I’ve always found them to be excellent.

Happy shopping!

Thank you! No where local apart from M&S. I’ll try that website though.

32DD

Doggymummar · 04/04/2026 20:41

It would be 32dd

Tortephant · 04/04/2026 20:43

Which aspect is right: boobs or ribs or both? It may not be wrong measurement as different brands fit differently too.

TeaAndToastedCrumpets · 04/04/2026 21:08

Also depends on the brand, for example I find boux avenue bands run small so I size up in the band but same cup size rather than sister size. M&S sizing is strange and nothing quite fits right on me. Try different sizes in different brands (websites like brastop that do free returns).

TeaAndToastedCrumpets · 04/04/2026 21:12

Also try measuring with abrathatfits - I started with BOB but the band was too tight and cups too big, ended up somewhere between the 2 calculations for the best fit. They do say it's a starting point so you'll have to try variations. Also the style can make a difference too.

Isabelle70 · 04/04/2026 22:22

Did you do the backwards band test to see if the band fits? If the band fits and it’s tight it could actually be the cup size too small. There is a FB group that has lots of helpful information. They also say to try with a true to size bra brand first.

billandtedsexcellentadventure · 05/04/2026 07:37

It is so so tight around the band. The cup felt a bit big.

@TeaAndToastedCrumpetsI’ll try that one

Just to say I had a video fitting with bravissimo and she looked at me and said 30 HH and was spot on. It was quite incredible they then sent me three bras and you have a month to decide if they are ok. Amazing

billandtedsexcellentadventure · 05/04/2026 17:55

@Doggymummaroh wow. 🤯 that’s crazy

Boob or bust is awful so many women in pain due to wrong sized bras. You should be able to get two fingers under the strap, go get a proper measurement.

billandtedsexcellentadventure · 05/04/2026 21:24

@Doggymummardid tney recommend bras in your size and then you just choose off their website?

32dd is a sister size of 30E

billandtedsexcellentadventure · 06/04/2026 19:19

i Will try a 32dd and see how that feels.

I found Chat GPT really good for this recently. It told me my size and it was spot on. Might be worth a go?

billandtedsexcellentadventure · 07/04/2026 08:53

@twiddlingthumbs69ooh thanks. It’s worth a shot!

I had the same with boob or bust (and also good luck finding a decent range of bras in 30E. For various anatomical reasons I can’t wear anything with a fully underwired cup and that left me with about two possible options).

So I went back to the 32DD that I’ve always worn. I’ve since been measured by an independent professional, and she agreed that 32DD was the most practical and best fitting option for me.

@billandtedsexcellentadventure
Fantasie are reliable sizing. Try them.

That's Boob or Bust for you. Lots of women swear by it but it doesn't really work well for those with smaller band sizes. That's why you can't find 28DD in the shops - which is what Boob or Bust would measure me at. I find 34B the most comfortable; occasionally a 32C.
