Please can I have some recommendations for foundation.
I am 48 and definitely in peri. My skin seems to be drying out and I look very old and haggard.
I normally wear Boots Hydraluminous but not sure its quite as flattering as it used to be. I have a very red complexion with cool undertones
and I always look knackered 🤣
I have seen that people are recommending Korean make up but which particular brands?
Tia

I like IT cosmetics CC cream, but I see a lot of people talking about Eborian.
The Loreal skin tint is nice too xx

Sculpted By Aimee. Cream Cushion, Hydratint or Tint & Glow. Also the Beauty Base. Lots of her stuff is made in Korea.

hi @Misskittycat16 i'm on my 3rd bottle of kylie cosmetics power plush foundation and really like it, it's the first foundation i've ever repurchased and i've tried many over the years. you don't mention a budget, so i don't know if you would class £29 for foundation as outrageous, cheap or perfect, personally i would pay considerably more for it as i adore the coverage and formula. it's also cruelty free, which is important to me. i buy the shade 2.5n, make sure you buy one with c at the end. i have quite a lot of discolouration and the occasional spot and it has never failed me. in regards to your redness, elf do a green primer for red skin which i have heard very good things about.

i forgot to say, i use superdrug vitamin e spray before my makeup to hydrate my skin then again when my makeup is done to melt my creams and powders together. if your skin is dry and dull, cream blush/bronzers are your best friend, set with a small amount of translucent powder on a big brush rather than putting more powder blush/bronzer on top.

It’s expensive but I love Trinny London.

I booked myself in for a John Lewis make up session (would recommend) and they used Laura Mercier Real Flawless Weightless Perfecting Foundation, which looked nice. Pricy, and not Korean, which was your ask, sorry!

NARS light reflecting, all day everyday. I have redness on my cheeks and have skin that looks dry and dull easily. It’s been such a game changer and I was shocked at how decent and buildable the coverage is. I used to have to wear erborian CC cream to calm the redness down under my foundation but I don’t any more because the foundation covers it and looks much fresher on my skin. It’s 70% skincare in its formulation and it does make a difference.

I have recently started using this BB cream by Missha which looks lovely and slightly glowy on. It’s really hydrating and might be worth looking at.

Ah thanks for all of the replies, I will definitely have a looknat all the recommendations.
@dogsarebetterthanppl thank you for your detailed reply, not too concerned re budget, just want to look a bit more put together and less red ha! I use Fushi Vit E oil which is lovely. I am trying to use less products on my skin but I cannot compromise on make up because I need the coverage 😆 definitely going to invest in some cream blush and bronzer.

you're more than welcome, there's nothing worse when your makeup doesn't go right! if you can get to a big boots that has all the counters not just your "drugstore" brands, i would really advise buying your foundation in person so you can definitely get the right shade. the pixi cream blush and bronzer sticks are worth a look, a family member's sil is a makeup artist and swears by them for mature skin. the power plush is a satin finish, not too matte not too glowy which is best because i tend to find cream products on glowy foundation looks like a grease ball.

Dycypher. It was the only brand that worked for me

Two recommendations

  1. its a bit divisive, people love it or hate it, but Jones Road What the Foundation. It’s a balm consistency but my dry skin just loves it. I don’t use moisturiser under it, it’s not necessary, and I use a small amount and build up. It’s quite light coverage but blurs out the red areas I have on my cheeks.
  2. bare minerals complexion rescue. This is a more straightforward tinted moisturiser. Moisturising and glowy, plus has SPF. I use this more in summer.
