Given that RS is the highlight of the Christian church year.
It got me thinking.
What colours do you wear for RS or do you just go normal?
Questions just for fun and interest. X

I don't want a pox 😱

Watching with interest as I was thinking, maybe to go to Evensong in a nearby town and colours had not occurred to me

i'm actually quite worried about going in case everybody looks at me and goes "who is this stranger?"

Nothung · 03/04/2026 11:38

Who calls it ‘Resurrection Sunday’? Any stripe of Christianity I’m aware of calls it Easter Sunday.

Knock yourself out.

JumpinJehoshaphat · 03/04/2026 11:40

RS? I’ve never heard that term and I was brought up a Catholic. Yellow makes me look like cat shit and I don’t go to church anyway. But you do you.

Sannabay · 03/04/2026 11:52

Tbh most at my local church just go normally dressed.
But im going to a. Evangelical Presbyterian this year so was wondering. No worries
No pox intended lol.

Emerald. Don't worry about this. God looks at the heart.
go in what you feel comfortable in
As for me. Its a sunshine colour of celeb with connotations of the second coming (Jesus appearing in the sun).
It's the highlight of the faith , victory over sin and death. So a big joyous event. Hence my dressing to reflect. But in my usual cofe folk pretty much dress normal. Hope this helps.

Sorry the above posters were so incredibly and needlessly rude to you.

I quite like yellow for Easter! I like it when people come in jolly clothes. Of course it's not well supported in the text - indeed we are cautioned specifically that beauty does not come from adornment, jewelry or fine clothes, but the unfading beauty of the inner self.

Christianity is a bit of a challenge!

So is that a Presbyterian term?

No one was rude. People were asking about an unfamiliar term for Easter Sunday.

No no it's just a reality term lol. For context my old vicar used to call the Christmas dinner, The feast of the Incarnation of the Son of God. Lol. Think the terms RS n Easter Sunday are pretty interchangeable.
Course Easter historically was about bonking rabbits n such, as I'm sure you know. Without getting into a Theological discussion at length, Pesach is the history, Jesus the fulfillment. :)

Good point on text.
Logically then as being the Temple OTHS, we could be in Scarlet, Blue n purple! Or white linen.

Hi OP, I think many wear yellow or pale blue on Resurrection Sunday but you can wear any colour you wish!

Happy Easter, Happy Pascha, Happy Resurrection Sunday - He is Risen ❤

FFS. This is style and beauty. I’m sure there are specific areas on MN for spouting religious nonsense without having to do it here.

That’s weirdly mesmerising. Possibly because I have t got my glasses on and can’t decide if it’s a sun, a halved orange, or some kind of mystical objet.

Lararoft · 03/04/2026 15:51

I call it Happy Chocolate Day…
but yes, yellow sounds very springlike.
