Hair styling help

I’ve recently had my hair cut into a bob.
Previously it was long and I never did anything with it. Just washed and let it dry.

I am now blow drying it most days.

Should I be using some sort of heat protector?

And what styling product would you recommend? I’ve got some mousse and a styling lotion - seem ok but I don’t know if there are better things out there.

I’ve never bothered much with my hair even though I’m 57.

Yes definitely use a heat protectant now that you’re blow-drying regularly. Ingredient-wise, you’ll want to look for things like silicones, panthenol, and sometimes proteins to help support the hair structure. For styling, a light mousse is great for a bob because it gives a bit of volume and shape without stiffness. While a styling lotion or cream works better if your hair feels a bit dry and frizzy.
