Dog walking coat

i have a new rescue dog who needs to be walked twice a day. The problem is my current water resistant coat is ideal for this temperature but lets in rain at the seams/ zip. I have a thick winter coat which is fine for cold and raining. Pack-a-Mac coats aren’t good either as they make me sweat and aren’t warm enough.

What I do lack is a good waterproof coat for when it’s raining. Lots of pockets would be great for treats, poo bags, keys, phone etc. can you please recommend one? Even better if it has a reflective strip on it.

Go to any outdoor shop, and you’ll find something - Trepass, Regatta, Mountain Warehouse, Craghopper, Wolfskin, Go Outdoors etc. Make sure it’s ‘waterproof’ and not ‘shower-proof’ ’ or ‘water resistant’.

Alternatively, brands like Seasalt do some good quality coats as well.

I was going to recommend and show pics of the coat my dog has, but then thought, hmm, not sure I'd want my house keys in pockets on my dogs coat- then I re-read your post. 😆

I have a trespass coat which looks a bit like a raincoat with a hood. I bought it 5yrs ago so possibly not still available though.

I've got a plant hunter from Seasalt. It is long enough to cover a lot, the waterproofing is fantastic, and it's not over warm. I got one big enough to wear over a jumper in winter, but it's not padded so you don't overheat in the spring/autumn

After 8 years of searching for the best dog coat I have a raincoat. Made for horse riders i believe. It is amazing and worth every penny. I have multiple health issues and staying warm is very important and with this coat it is not an issue.

I think Regatta is pretty good. I got a couple off Vinted (one for work), only thing is they run super small so I had to size up twice.
Or if you dont mind looking like a twat there is always the dryrobe!

I have this. It's not the warmest I've ever had by my god it's got me through this winter's torrential rain with barely a single drop hitting my skin.

I wear a thin feather jacket under it if it's below 10c outside, but I'm also on Mounjaro so am permanently cold so maybe take that with a pinch of salt 😂
