I fancy a treat and trying some at least new to me products, but I'm not interested in perfume, hair care (a hair mask I'd live with!) or nail varnish. Are there any beauty boxes out there that focus on make up and skincare? I'm early 50s. I don't really want a subscription.

Not a Beauty Box, but I’ve just discovered Lisa Eldridge via TikTok. Made for skin our age I believe.

I got a gift of just my look from a friend and it’s marvellous !

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 29/03/2026 10:59

Yeah I had a look at Lisa Eldridge in Space NK yesterday, but nothing grabbed me and it's pricey if you make a mistake. It's the receiving a selection of things to try that appeals rather than having to decide myself!

Marks and Spencers has a couple- one called glow and one called unwind. £30.

Look at the Hearst magazine beauty boxes
or I quite fancy one of the K beauty boxes from Boots.

If you want to play and experiment why not just go onto the Cult Beauty site and see what appeals? They do have edited boxes (which are usually a saving on buying the products individually) but they have such a variety of products you may just want to pick a few things yourself. There are sometimes free gifts with purchases, though fewer than in the past.

Another vote for an edited Cult Beauty box. I always get one from DH at Xmas. They always have lovely stuff, are really good value and I've found a few things that have become.staples for me that I never would've tried otherwise 😊

I bought the Boots New and Trending box. It has a good mix of items including some Korean skincare and some make up. Annoyingly one item is a full size Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil styling cream which I bought recently. Anyway, that alone is £32 to buy and it'll get used.

M&S have got 20% of their beauty boxes at the moment.
