Decided on a few hours in our town this morning, I really need some new clothes. The whole experience reminded my why I never buy anything

M&S - all the social media posts that make M&S look amazing…really poor selection of sizes in store and everything barrel? Legged? I don’t understand it.

Whistles - used to be my go to, everything so long (I’m 5,4) and again barrels?!

I’m a size 14, menopausal stomach and feeling like a total mes. I’m living in leggings outside of work. Genuinely no clue how or what to shop anymore

Left feeling sweaty, messy and like an old bloated frump.

Wise ones help me.

I find physically going round shops for clothes just a massive time waste! It's fun for the first half hour but then i get sick of spotting things, trooping over, folks getting in the way, only to find when i get there there's only half of it (back missing out of a blouse or cropped up to the arm pits) or there's something else weird about it. Then if you do get as far as lifting the hanger and still actually liking it there isnt your size in stock.

I find High Street shopping very disappointing. I can't find the sizes I need, and when I ask, am told " we don't stock those sizes as no-one buys them, well perhaps no-one buys them because they don't have them in stock.
A recent trip to town was because I was sure I would find an item in a particular shop I decided to support a local independent store rather than buy online. The item was black lining fabric, an item every fabric shop would normally have in stock. Unable to buy the item so wasted trip.
I then ventured into Boots, was then directed to the wrong place twice to find items and saw another customer also directed incorrectly. One of the items I wanted was a tablet box, I was eventually told they were behind the pharmacy counter - no reason for it to be there, such a long queue I didn't bother. Went home without buying anything and ordered online.
Town centres need to really concentrate on selling the things we all buy or be really unique, plus concentrate on customer service.
Previous trip I tried to buy white pillowcases, none in stock!
