No, it looks nothing like a wedding dress. It’s lovely.

BoogieTownTop · 24/03/2026 08:59

That’s lovely and spot on!!!

OneNewEagle · 24/03/2026 14:18

Any white is to white. Guests can wear all other colours.

Its probably ok but why bother chancing what the bride thinks?! I agree, easier to just avoid white altogether.

marchi · 24/03/2026 22:13

it looks fine to me.

RaraRachael · 24/03/2026 22:28

It's lovely, just wear it.

Only on MN have I heard that you can't wear anything remotely white to a wedding.

Goldbar31 · 24/03/2026 22:28

It’s nice and no prob wearing it

FeministThrowingAPrincessParty · 24/03/2026 22:31

Not too white and helped by the fact the shape is not remotely like a wedding dress. It’s lovely!

Talkingtomyhouseplants · 25/03/2026 08:42

It’s fine

Dyptique · 25/03/2026 11:04

I would personally avoid any white at all, as it’s just not worth potentially annoying/ upsetting the bride or making other guests give the side eye

Only on MN would this dress not be suitable for a wedding! It’s nothing like a bridal gown!

nonmerci99 · 25/03/2026 12:00

Looks perfect for a wedding to me.

JustGiveMeReason · 26/03/2026 00:17

Is this dress too white for a guest?

Of course not.
That 'rule' is so you don't turn up looking like the bride.
This is nothing like any bridal gown.
It is a beautiful dress and would be lovely for a wedding.

Giraffehaver · 26/03/2026 00:42

I think that dress is gorgeous and totally appropriate for a wedding

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 26/03/2026 02:43

The “rule” is there so that the camera doesn’t focus on someone other than the bride in group photos. It’s not about looking too bridal, but that is a modern interpretation, although I’ve never been to a wedding where I didn’t k w who the bride was.

Overtheatlantic · 26/03/2026 03:08

I think it’s stunning and it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest but some brides might give it the side eye. Although with so many younger women seemingly unaware and mocking the ‘rule’ then perhaps no current brides would have a problem with it.

This dress is fine this comment is rubbish

Fifthtimelucky · 26/03/2026 11:55

Usually when people ask this, I think the dress is too white and therefore inappropriate for a wedding guest.

On this occasion I think it’s absolutely fine (and a lovely dress)!
