I’m heading to a wedding in Greece in may and have fallen in love with this dress. Whilst it’s described as yellow imo it looks more creamy. I’d love to accessorise with colourful shoes/bag, what do you think go with this. I’d like something open toe shoe wise but with a chunkier heel definitely not stilleto type shoes. Thank you in advance for any help !

It’s beautiful - love the waist and hemline style

Uglydumpling · 22/03/2026 14:37

Yea definitely cream

Mumto3thatsme · 22/03/2026 15:11

We’ve been specifically asked not to wear white, is this going to be ok? I really don’t want to tread on anyone’s toes

That is really lovely. I'd go with a small clutch in the pink shade, and some strappy but comfy sandals.

DC555 · 22/03/2026 17:12

I think if you’ve specifically been asked not to wear white I’d be cautious about wearing that. It’s beautiful but the bride is obviously going to be very sensitive to anyone she feels is over-stepping/ignoring her wishes.

I like the clear sandals with it, love these Laboutins, must be a good copy out there. Or tan, gold maybe with a gold squidgy clutch. Gorgeous dress

Well Its cream - if she said don’t wear white and didn’t mention cream
you should be ok - even more so if summer wedding

are there any other colours? Would be nice if there was a light green colour

SquirrelFan · 22/03/2026 17:31

Imo, cream is waaay too close to white to wear when you've been specifically asked not to wear white. Have you seen it in person? Although if it photographs white (and I think it does from the picture you've posted) that may be what the bride is concerned about. It is a lovely dress.

PinkTonic · 22/03/2026 17:42

It’s not white or cream it’s floral.

CherryViper · 22/03/2026 17:46

It's a lovely dress, wear it for a different occasion.

You have been specifically asked not to wear white. It is too white or cream imho.

igelkott2026 · 22/03/2026 17:50

I thought a dress like that was an absolute no-no, even though it looks nothing like a bridal gown ;)

I have a not dissimilar dress that I've worn twice to weddings and will be wearing again this weekend. Nobody is looking at me!

I think when someone says don't wear white, they mean don't wear a white dress. A plain white dress that looks like a bridal gown. Not a beige one with floral designs on it.

It's a perfectly acceptable dress to wear to a wedding.

I assume the bridezilla is on MN, as in real life nobody actually cares what you wear although the bride at the wedding I am going on said no jeans

waltzingparrot · 22/03/2026 17:54

I'd go for dusky pink sandals and sage green clutch or vice versa.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 22/03/2026 18:08

Can you show the bride the picture?

You can’t wear it in that case. Avoid all white, cream , yellow based dresses.

Now MN is stretching it to yellow too!

The dress is lovely. It's floral.

outerspacepotato · 22/03/2026 19:05

I wouldn't wear it if you've been specifically asked not to wear white. There's a lot of background showing that's too close to white.

I‘m not close enough to her to show her. I think I’ll keep it for a different occasion, I can’t be dealing with the stress of whether I’d cause offence or not 😂

This is my alternative dress which I think is a lot safer

Yes that’s safe but not nearly as nice
