comfiest knickers/briefs

chocolatesnaps · 20/03/2026 07:55

I find all my knickers slightly uncomfy, even having sized up. I like a full brief and super soft material. I used to love the John Lewis anyday microfibre briefs but they changed the material and they aren't so soft now.

Any suggestions? Happy to pay a bit.

Thanks!

I like the John Lewis microfibre full briefs

LadyLolaRuben · 21/03/2026 18:59

Boody fan here too

Ireolu · 21/03/2026 18:59

I have tried some of these pants
Wirapa
JL microfiber
Sloggi
M&S microfiber
And didn't like them
I now have boody and stripe &stare on order and I am hopeful they work.

LindorDoubleChoc · 21/03/2026 19:20

Sloggis

dizzydizzydizzy · 21/03/2026 19:24

Boody (currently got a sale)
Sloggi
Stripe and Stare

chocolatesnaps · 22/03/2026 18:20

To the Stripe & Stare fans, any comment on the size? Pretty true to size?

Meant to say, an important criteria is that they really are a proper full brief that covers the belly button - definitely need this after 3 kids! Some of the full briefs I've ordered have gone below, even though I always size up.

@chocolatesnaps Yes. definitely true to size. I'm an 8/10 and the small fits me perfectly except in the lace knickers, I size up for those as they're not very stretchy. I buy the original knickers but you'll want the high rise knickers if you want more coverage. I think it's free returns for your first order so you could order a couple of sizes and return if they're not right for you. Presumably you can't try them on first(!) but you could compare to some of your existing pairs that fit well (or not).

Boody knickers are great. DH got some boxers too and he approves.
Stripe and stare have also arrived and look great. Happy I stumbled on this thread. Some success in the pants dpt at last..

Another fan of M & S Flexfit.

Flexifit ones from m and s are lovely - I have the bikinis and the shorter shorts but they do full briefs too if you prefer those

I second this. They are so comfortable and have them in full brief, high leg and brief style.
The full brief has la bit of a flare around the leg so you don’t have a VPL with them under jeans or trousers.
They are also much more attractive than granny pants, sort of fitted French knicker appearance.
When I was young and able to maintain an extensive collection of matching underwear I loved French knickers. After DC and trying to keep up with the vast amounts of washing a household creates I just have 70million pairs of black knickers and a variety of matching bras. With a few pairs off nude coloured sets for under paler clothes.

I do miss my lingerie collection though, totally impractical since the rest of the household, now old enough to share laundry duties are clueless about the care of delicates.

It’s the same with white bed linen. I look back and laugh at the younger me who had white cotton duvet covers that I washed, ironed and starched every week. I don’t even iron sheets nowadays and they are all dark colours.

They sound good but one size fits all?

Agree, Chantelle are fab. One size does fit all.
I’ve recently gone from size 16 to size 12 and they still fit perfectly! I’ve replaced
all my knickers with these.

Idratherhaveafishsupper · 26/03/2026 05:27

Tesco full briefs are vey comfy.

wyntersunbeam · 26/03/2026 05:58

YouShow cotton knickers on Amazon are my go to.

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 26/03/2026 06:37

Calida has wonderfully comfortable cotton knickers.

I’ve never had a bad product from this brand.

mimiasovitch · 20/03/2026 08:19

British boxers full brief - they’re the softest bamboo.

Agreed!

Allseeingallknowing · 26/03/2026 13:05

canihaveonesomeroses · 21/03/2026 17:25

I don’t know about fitting all, but DM and I both have pairs and I’m a good few sizes larger than her …

Normally £17, now £13.60 for one pair!

Sparkletastic · 26/03/2026 13:30

Another vote for Wirapa from Amazon, also discovered them via MN recommends. Life changing - robust, comfortable, cotton, wash well, smooths lady lumps.

Lunaballoon · 26/03/2026 13:39

The best like for like match for the old JL microfibre briefs is Sloggi, imo.

chocolatesnaps · 13/04/2026 19:18

Hey everyone,

So in the end I didn't order a whole heap, I just researched thoroughly and went for Stripe & Stare...I can confirm I am a convert!! They are exactly what I was looking for - silky, soft and I barely notice them once on, they also wash well. I'm a size 10 and medium fits really well.

The only down side (and no small thing 🙈) is that my sanitary pads didn't stick to them. However this may be down to the brand of sanitary pad so I will try next month with different ones 😅.

Thanks for all the help on here!! X

I had same problem with pads not sticking on the Wirapa pants, but after a few washes they stick better

Allseeingallknowing · 13/04/2026 19:22

Just looked at stripe and Stare -very expensive!
