What to wear to a summer formal wedding with a big bust and petite figure?

I have an invitation to a 'summer formal' wedding at a posh home counties venue. Child-free, naturally.

I have FOUR weddings this summer, but the other three occassions can be dealt with with the current contents of my wardrobe. However, this one I am a bit stumped by.

I am 39yo, 5'2'' UK12/14, big boobs = 30F, small waist, bit of a mum tum but arms and calves I can get out. I'm a curvy trail runner who works out. Classic Kibbe Romantic if you want to classify it.

I generally get compliments in 'skater dress' style dresses. My work wardrobe is made up of Karen Millan petite dresses in this style after a personal shopper a long time ago suggested this. Anything that goes in at the waist, but skims the tummy, shows off bum curves and boob curves basically. I HAVE to be able to wear a proper bra (no 'strapless' bra bullshit with strappy/strapless dresses, for example).

My concern about 'summer formal' is that my tits are too big for a posh Surrey wedding and my legs are too short for a below the knee dress.

I'm looking at these, do they suit the dress code?!

Phase Eight (worried it won't fit my petite figure)

Omnes dress (same)

It’s a gorgeous dress and the neckline is perfect for a large bust. The length will be a problem unless you want full length? Or is that a petite?

It is full length. I thought formal meant it had to be below the knee/preferably long? I have access to a tailor but I wonder if that will ruin the drape? The torso would need to fit well if it were just a case of taking up the hem.

The second one should be able to be shortened, not sure about the first one

I think you’re right about formal meaning full length. I would order it and see how it fits. It could be absolutely stunning!

I might get shouted at for this but those are two very different colour choices. If you suit the olive green you might not suit the yellow unless it’s more warm/gold.

I'm fair skinned, auburn haired and grey eyed. Light spring, if you believe that stuff. I have pretty good skin on my face, but body in-particular. I don't tan so have no tan lines.

I have pulled two separate bright yellow wedding outfits before (and may wear one of those dresses to another wedding this summer). I was surprised too, but it always gets compliments.

If anything, 90% of the wedding outfits I have worn, have been in either a mint or forest green, or a bright yellow. And it would have been good to have found something a bit more original! I appreciate olive is a slightly different beast however, and I will have to try it on. I can generally pull off green, but we will see...

Powder blues and pinks work well on me. As do champagne and cream, which are not suitable for a wedding, or camel, which isn't very summery.

Suggestions welcome!
