Formal dress code for wedding

I’m going to a wedding in autumn with a formal dress code. I asked what it meant, and was told not casual!

The groomsmen are wearing dinner jackets, and I have a feeling that formal might mean evening wear. Can anybody make any suggestions please, I live in jeans and sportswear!! I’m early fifties, 5’9”, size 14. Budget £200ish. Thank you 🙏

The jacket was reduced yesterday which would have brought it within budget 🤷‍♀️
