After spending far too long going shopping to replace essentials only to find they're discontinued, if I was Prime Minister I would pledge that:
Anyone who has found an 'everyday' item that they would want to keep repurchasing - you've found your ideal bra, foundation, eyeliner, running trainers, moisturiser, kids' school trousers, tights, hair product etc - should be allowed to 'register your interest' with the retailer, so if they ever intend to discontinue it or change the formula, cut etc, they must legally notify you, allow you to order further items (at a retail price no higher than 10% more than the average retail price) within a set time period.
They must fulfill this order, giving you time to find a replacement and not be left high and dry.
Good idea or no?
Obviously I'd also sort out world peace but I'm assuming everyone's with me on that.
