Help me style this skirt

I've bought this skirt from next, it's lovely and I'm hoping to wear it out for lunch today with my docs - but what can I wear on top?! I've put on a bit of weight and am bottom heavy size 14 at the moment! I'm thinking of buying this from Next - Black Satin Midi Skirt With Lace Trim Black satin skirt

I’d wear a knitted jumper on top, something chunky. In black.

Yep knitted jumper in black, cream, brown or burgundy

I wouldn't go with black on black. It would work either with a good block colour fluffy sweater like this from H&M or a loose chiffon blouse like this French Connection one

I'd wear a nice fluffy cream jumper with a statement necklace.

I have this? It's the only knitted jumper I really have 😩 I'm not very good at putting things together and my wardrobe is pretty limited

Nice outfit! Agree the cream one, the skirt needs a shorter boxier shape top to go with it, the pink one is too long. Boxy T shirts will work with it in summer. DMs look 👌

Thanks - I'll invest in some boxy tops to go with it. I bought the skirt thinking I could dress up or down with it on a trip away for my birthday in April - this thread has been helpful.
