Olive oil. I have beautiful skin, mid - fifties, no wrinkles yet!

SOSserum day cream with SPF 30. Fragrance free, very moisturising and good daily protection. Their SPF 50 is also great for summer/stronger sun.

a cheap budget one which is good is the Lacura Cavier moisturiser around £5 I think

This is what use, the night cream is also lovely.

My post was in response to "Your skin is a literal barrier"

My reply was to the post in the screenshot below. The post and reply suggested that the people involved doing understand how the skin/blood barrier works. My reply was a basic explanation about the differences between cream/lotion delivery and transdermal patches. It's an important distinction and one that, as you can tell from some of the responses here, many people don't understand.

@mumwheresmyribena , but I already knew how it worked and your reply looked as if it was aimed at me.

Direct it at the poster who made the initial remark, @dappledligh not me.

La Roche pasay vitamin b5 serum is lovely

I have just started using the new Garnier Vitamin C range (yellow bottle) . Its brilliant, and ive used all sorts over the years! My skin feels and looks so much better. Think it was about £7 for the moisturiser.

Olay 7 signs is lovely, I use the spf daytime one after spritzing my face with rose water.
Evening I use Astral. It’s easier to rub in than Nivea.
Tret first, then astral then top with Bio Oil.

I initially started with olay 7 and gave it sometime but it never worked. Did it work for you?

Boots cucumber moisturiser.

PandaKitty · 16/03/2026 14:25

I’m liking the hydrogel SPF 50 from neutrogena as well. Saves having a moisturiser and as SPF

I replied to your question on your post. You brought the subject of transdermal patches up.

Maybe you could have explained how the skin/blood barrier works then instead of just commenting with what appeared to be a straightforward question.

Asda do a really cheap (less than £5) Day and Night cream. Both are fab - I really think the secret is using something all the time.

Revolution Miracle Cream. Infact, their whole skincare range. Whoops No7 etc and a fraction of the cost.

I like their cream blusher stubby sticks -

Nivea Q10. I used the day cream for years but recently switched to the vitaminC boost one as it makes my skin look less grey in winter.
I'm early sixties with dry, sensitive skin.
When I try other moisturisers if this is out of stock, my skin always ages so I go back to this.

I'm on my 2nd tub of this and i like it!

It feels thick at first but then just sinks right in. Smells nice too like sun cream 😊
