I’m talking preserving and conditioning rather than colour toning. No purple shampoos, just amino acids, good silicones and softening oils. What are your favourites?

Kerastase Blond Absolu range is nice. I use it and the blow dry cream if I have a lot of blonde highlights in. Also the Bleach Reincarnation mask is supposed to be good but I’ve never used it.

All the Color Wow products - dreamcoat for blow drying, money mist - literally everything I've ever bought from there has done exactly what it claimed. I have "good" hair and used to advertise hair products so I'm a bit wary of recommending too much. My friends have expressed frustration at my recs before. But for me, I like those. I also like standard Elvive shampoos and conditioners and I don't notice much difference with fancy stuff there. I quite rate baby oil on the tips and baby power on the roots to extend a blow dry, which is how we always lasted the gap between shows when you weren't allowed to wash your hair. Works better for me than dry shampoos. I think a Revlon One Step is the best, easiest way to blow dry my hair, which is very straight, thick, and blonde, now blonde highlights and grey.

The main thing is to preserve the keratin chain, so washing technique and drying technique make the most difference, over products. Very good microfibre hair wrap towels, never roughly towelling, never sleeping on wet hair, and low heat under tension with a protectant spray to dry... these are the main ways I keep my hair in good condition. I take iron tablets, too.

Thanks, these are helpful! I’ve use the Blond Absolu shampoo and conditioner and don’t mind it, I haven’t tried the blow dry cream so I’ll give it a go. I’ve never tried Color Wow either so will invest, thanks.

K18 is an absolute game changer. I love the leave in mask.

I’m awful with hair and until recently used to sleep with wet hair 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ my hairdresser recommended TIGI Bed head (the green ones ) shampoo and conditioner, and palmers coconut oil or olive oil sachets once a week as a hair mask ( leave on for 1 hour whilst cleaning/doing something else) both have worked wonders for my hair
