Job interview

After a successful informal teams call, I have been invited to an interview to meet the other Partners face to face.

I would like buy a new outfit, I could do with a wardrobe refresh anyway, for this interview.

Please can I have a steer on what would present me as professional and timeless. Typically I wear trousers, boots, a white shirt and various vests but would like to enhance my style.

By way of background, it’s a male dominated industry and the role is to lead a new team in a new office.

If it’s not too late, @TwittleBee - what’s your height and clothing size? And your budget?

You mention ‘vests’ - so I’m guessing you’re not in the UK, assuming you mean a jacket or blazer?

It’s not! It’s not until next week. Size 8, 5’3 and budget of £500

in the UK, by vest I mean something like below

which is my standard look, I have almost that identical outfit.

Edited

a vest is a tank top I believe

Personally I would probably wear something I’m already comfortable in to an interview.

I’ve had more fitted vests like this I’ve worn over shirts in navy and bottle green from Jigsaw but I don’t think it’s necessary for an interview. You could possibly get a Reiss skirt suit for your budget or just get a smart work dress with blazer/jacket, I’d probably go Hobbs. I’ve also worn Next dresses and jackets to smart interviews and they look fine. As long as they’re clean and a nice colour you cant go wrong. Remember shoes you can walk in too.

Nothing wrong with new though. I’ve done this before bought a nice new outfit for an important interview.

I think I’ve decided on this outfit but shall wear one of my usual white shirts with it too

Do need new shoes though too!

Thank you btw, to those on here.
