Brown leather jacket styling advice

Hi all,

I just purchased a mid length brown bomber jacket. I always seem to get my styling wrong with shoes/accessories/bags so I wondered if anyone can help with ideas/links to pages

My standard wear is top/bootcut jeans/long coat/hoka trainers/crossbody bag. Im a size 16/18, carry my weight on my belly. I feel my look is dated/tired mum like. Im a cool winter.

I just need styling as I have tons of clothes but I wear rather than style stuff. What would you change/style?

Have you tried different jeans?

Massimo Dutti is good at the styling of leather / suede jackets so you could take a look and adapt to suit you:

I think you have the basics right but you probably need to change out your trainers for either a sleeker style or boots. Hokas are very chunky. What kind of tops are you wearing? You want to find a few well made T-shirts that will layer under a jacket. I’m a fan of gold t-bar earrings and that’s it for jewellery.

Lots of good quality T-shirts at Uniqlo.

Also, and most importantly, make sure you’re wearing a bra that fits. We often overlook how important it is to wear properly fitted foundation garments, but it’s like putting on foundation without moisturiser. It just doesn’t work.

Honestly it sounds like you are very on trend and polished. Less is more when it comes to styling. Clean hair and a classic pair of earrings go a long way.

@Overtheatlantic much appreciated - what sort of jeans would you recommend here? And colours?

I’m afraid I love a boot cut in a dark denim or ecru/off white. But I see other women wearing the wide leg styles and looking gorgeous. What do you feel best wearing? I was in town earlier today and saw women wearing all different styles including skinny jeans. I’m a big fan of soft cords in dark green and chocolate but again I prefer the boot cut. Your leather jacket sounds gorgeous!

I’ve just thought I used to have a Zara jacket a bit like this. I wore it with straight/skinny jeans and flat pointy shoes.
