First visit to Florida and wondering what the comfiest trainers are?’

All suggestions gratefully received!

I have some M & S ones which are great, but they can slip when wet, weirdly. They are copies of new balance I would say, so maybe look at theirs.?
( thick soles not flat ones )

I have Merrel walking shoes, which are great, and you will be walking a lot .

Skechers go walk sandals are
good for disney because of the heat. If trainers get wet on rides or rain etc you are
walking around with soggy feet all day

I prefer the mesh/knit fabric ones as they keep feet cooler eg Skechers Go Run.
Take a tried and tested pair and comfy socks. And at least one spare pair and sandals.
And buy a pack of moleskin plaster to deal with little irritations and hot spots.
Two summers ago it was 90 degrees and very humid and I resorted to sandals with socks!

I have done Disney lots of times and I don’t wear trainers. Harder to dry and hot. I wear these and can walk miles in them.

I did loads of research before we went last year and settled on the Hoka Bondi 8s. They were amazing!! On Clouds are highly regarded too but I found them not as comfortable when I tried them.

Hokas are the absolute best

Monsterslam · 28/02/2026 06:22

Skechers sandals, cushioned ones. Agree that you will end up with wet feet a lot, whether that's rain showers, wet rides or just walking past a kids splash pad/water misting spray and needing to feel cool.

No one is fashionable or stylish at wdw.

We call the ON brand of trainers Disney shoes for the reason that when we were at Florida Disney a good 25% of people were wearing them. I guess that means they’re comfy/suited to the weather.

OneWorthyLemonCat · 28/02/2026 06:46

I did 25,000 steps a day for 2 weeks in Japan wearing my Addidas Sambas. In theory they are not a supportive shoe, but my feet felt great!

zoolikefeatures · 28/02/2026 06:51

Skechers is what I wore. No issues with them.

Lemonade2011 · 28/02/2026 10:14

I wore merrell soft trainers in 2024 they dried quick but had noticed they wear a lot of on clouds in Disney so got some and so so comfy, they also dry quick. I’ve got 3 pairs now and use them for work (nurse) lots of people like hoka too but I think if buy anymore trainers I’ll be in trouble 😂😂😂

Isabelle70 · 28/02/2026 10:29

I wear the Sketchers arch fit sandals, dry quick if you get wet feet and some of the styles are not so bad.

WeightLossGoal2024 · 28/02/2026 21:53

Thanks everyone! I was only thinking of comfort. Are we likely to get wet feet a lot? I’m torn between researching the rides a lot and not as I want to enjoy the surprises!

There is often a huge thunderstorm in the middle of the day and their rain is like being in a car wash. It's not a bit of drizzle. The pavements can be 6 inches deep water in seconds. It goes as quick as it came but obviously trainers end up squelching. I would take good trainers, good sandals..you want a few different pairs in case any start to rub too.

ElsaSnow · 01/03/2026 21:06

Skechers arch fit - they dry quick too. As pp said ON is also very popular out there!
