I absolutely love these shoes. Hate the visible branding. I find it so annoying

I think they’re horrible- but you wouldn’t see the name once your feet are in them.

I agree. They're very 90s Benidorm/Polly from Eldorado. I imagine them with pedal pushers, a kaftan and a mahogany tan. The logo is the least of the problems with them.

Happyjoe · 27/02/2026 16:11

Totally agree - I won't buy anything where the logo can be seen. Even something that makes my heart sing isn't bought as soon as I spot a logo on the front.
But then I am the sort of person who detests things labelled too. Like a bread bin saying 'bread' on the front or a tea caddy saying 'tea'. No poop Sherlock!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/02/2026 14:46

No, but I might now as it clearly gives people something to get their knickers in a twist about.

I assume that a lot of people who are willing to pay Prada prices want people to know that they have bought Prada, hence the branding.

And my reply was no more pointless than the thread itself.

What's pointless about the thread?

Everlil · 27/02/2026 16:42

I hate the branding too. It always makes the item look like a cheap fake!

Careful now - opinions are only relevant if they agree entirely with those who decree that their opinions are the only valid ones. Otherwise, one is just being mean and self-important.

Gettingbysomehow · 27/02/2026 17:32

I would be interested to know if you can walk in those though. I bought some of those flip flops with a kitten heel and almost broke my neck 😁i couldnt wear them more than once. I guess wedges are a bit more stable.

Gettingbysomehow · 27/02/2026 14:41

I wont wear anything with branding. I dont see why I should advertise their product for free when Ive already paid a lot of money for it.

This. Me neither.

If they want me to advertise I will need paying 🤣

Queenie678 · 27/02/2026 18:51

I think the brand (sometimes incorrectly) assumes that the majority of people who choose to pay £800+ for a pair of shoes want everyone to know they have paid so much so choose to make the logo visible, otherwise what’s the point.

People who prefer no logos will more likely take inspiration from these brands and find cheaper dupes minus the logos.

I’m with you and hate big logos, especially annoys me on handbags.

DancingNotDrowning · 27/02/2026 19:50

If you post about a piece of clothing on style and beauty it’s to be expected that people will share their opinion on that item of clothing.

If you want validation as to your choice, post on ChatGPT with a prompt that elicits a broad range of congratulatory and agreeable responses.

But on a discussion board, expect discussion, including people telling you they dislike your choice. If that’s hurtful or upsetting to you, then maybe the internet isn’t for you.

Apologynotaccepted · 27/02/2026 19:52

I had a pair like this in the 90s and I LOVED them

CeciliaMars · 27/02/2026 19:53

Buy non- branded shoes? Problem solved! Would you really buy Prada shoes and have a cobbler get rid of the logo?!

FlibbertyGibbitt · 27/02/2026 21:34

I remember my friend having a pair the same in the early 80s.

Luckyingame · 27/02/2026 21:37

YANBU!
This sort of branding put me off a purchase couple of times.

Stephybris62 · 27/02/2026 21:55

I think realistically the style of prada shoes are pretty basic and you can get them elsewhere for a fraction of the price. People would rather spend a lot more to show they can afford them, which is why they put the logo visible, otherwise theyd be any shoe fron the high street.

It's not upsetting to me. It's just... weird. It doesn't take much reading comprehension to realise that at no point did I express the desire for validation or opinions on the shoes.

To expand on a pp's earlier post, I was a vegetarian for many years. If I'd come across a thread where someone was asking if others were annoyed by the way Waitrose ground mince was packaged and I'd jumped on saying, beef is disgusting, it would have literally nothing to do with the question, so what would be the point? Same principle.

But, hey, if shitting on someone else's taste for no reason is what makes you feel good, knock yourself out.

Thank you to everyone that's posted dupes. Lots of choices out there.

There's something about the height and proportion of the wedge and the front that I really like on the Prada ones that I'm not quite finding in the others.

I've said I love them, I didn't ask if people like them, this was specifically about the annoying branding.

Did it make you feel good to tell me that you think they're horrible? I never understand the need for that. If I dislike something someone posts, I just keep my mouth shut unless they've asked for opinions.

But not liking the same kind of shoes isn't an insult to you, is it? Just a different taste in sandals.

NewZebra · 27/02/2026 23:46

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 27/02/2026 15:49

I really didn’t. I just don’t like the shoes, with or without the branding. I really don’t understand why some people on here get so het up if someone doesn’t like something. I don’t give a shit if people like or dislike what I like.

But you just had to give your snide opinion didn’t you? When it wasn’t even a question of whether YOU liked them or not. You’re quite unpleasant.

oneoneone · 28/02/2026 00:29

janietreemore · 27/02/2026 23:39

But I didn't ask if people like them or not. I like them (other than the branding). I dgaf if others do or not.

So I'm not insulted. Just perplexed as to what people get out of coming onto a thread, to not answer the question, but apparently for the sole purpose of being rude about someone else's taste.

If my op had been, what do people think of these? Then, yes, I think they're horrible is a perfectly legitimate answer. But I didn't. So it's just egregious unpleasantness.

Agreed. I had similar with a pair of ballet pump shoes recently. Beautiful shoes, horrible brand name splashed across them. And with an otherwise lovely black sleeveless shift dress. Gorgeous until I noticed it had the bloody brand name across the neckline. It just makes the item look cheap/fake.
