I need some help please

If your 5ft 8/9 and weigh 10st to 11st (I’m 10st 10) what clothing size do you wear?

I’ve lost a significant amount of weight and went clothes shopping properly in actual shops to work out what size I am, in one shop I tried on so many different sizes and nothing fitted right, one shop a I couldn’t get into a size 16 yet a size 14 top was massive, surely I should be a comfortable 12 or 14? Zara was incredibly inconsistent and make me feel like I was still too big to wear their clothes (need some for work)

I know a lot depends on body shape which I am still trying to work out but I’m at a loss and it’s made me incredibly nervous about shopping again

Yes, sizing has really changed. I've lost 5 stone and just tried on some jackets from the back of my wardrobe that are 20 years old. They're labelled a size 22 but fit like a size 18 would now.

Well, no, not necessarily. Have you measured your bust, waist and hips? If you check against the shops' size guide oone, you'll find out what size you should be roughly.

Of course, that doesn't always translate to the reality!

Bone structure.

I’m 5’9” and I remember weighing 10 stone 10 in early 2020. I was averaging a 12 in clothes size. I’d just bought a size 10 skirt which was the first size 10 item I’d ever owned in my life, even though I weighed almost a stone less in my early 20s. I’m now several stone heavier and trying to get back to that. Shop sizing is so inconsistent. I find Next are usually extremely generous, especially with coats and jeans.

I’m a smidge under 5’9 and 9.5 stone. I’m a 12 in tops and bottoms.

Size 12 but it’s going to depend on factors such as bust size, pear, apple or hourglass figure. I am long torsoed with 34d bust and hourglass shape. Normally it’s a 12 in trousers and 10/12 in tops and dresses.
