Wavy hair day 2?

I have naturally straight hair with a very slight wave in some sections but I often do heatless curls which give me a nice wavy effect. My hair is long and while it looks great on the first day, I'd like to be able to get away with a second day out of it but it gets so tatty by the end of the day I don't feel like I can get away without brushing it which obviously creates a big frizzy effect. How do others manage this and is there a way to detangle properly so I can get another day out of it even in a ponytail?

The only solution I’ve found is to spray it all wet, brush curls out and put it back into the heat less curls overnight, never as nice as the day before though. Others may have better suggestions!

You could spray with a refresh spray (lots available for curly/wavy hair or google a recipe and make one) and comb with a wide toothed comb or fingers.

Essentially the only way to detangle curly/wavy hair without creating huge hair is to comb while wet only. Refresh spray is the replacement for fully wetting the hair.
