Interview outfit for 18yr old

DD has an assessment for an apprenticeship in creative industry - large professional company. Discussions are being had over what she should wear. She wants to wear a long floaty skirt with a loose fitting blouse and DM’s - she looks very nice but I think she should go for a smarter more tailored look mostly based on the fact that if she was male I would be saying suit.
Any suggestions on what would make a good interview outfit for an 18yr old?

What sort of role and what sort of creative industry? I think for some roles and companies what she is suggesting would be perfect for others a trouser suit or a business style dress would probably be a better fit.

Which creative industry? It matters.

Sorry - the bbc - production. Not thinking full on power suit - more smart trousers/skirt and top.
I’m not good at these thing as I live and work in jeans and T-shirts and haven’t had a job interview in 15 yrs.

I used to work for the BBC, and the only people who wore suits were visiting accountants. Dress code is casual but stylish, so I think your daughter is probably right.
