Funeral outfit

I’m attending a relatives funeral soon and need an outfit to wear. I don’t have any tailored black trousers and I am really struggling to find a pair that look ok. I am 5’ and find current trouser styles tricky - wide leg or barrel leg trousers look terrible on me and I’m limited to petite ranges. An alternative would be a black dress but again I am struggling to find a smart dress in a petite range. Does anyone have suggestions of?

Some great suggestions there, thank you!

I saw this, it’s regular length so wondered if it might be ok with me being short. Or is it too short for a funeral?

I think it would be fine - you could wear with knee boots if it looked too leggy on.

I went to a funeral a week ago, and it was extremely cold, but honestly, no-one was dressed up or all in black. It was much more important to be there to support a friend.
I don’t think it’s worth buying special clothes for a funeral - just get fairly plain dark things that you can wear for other events e.g. work. You may need a coat or jacket - theres often quite a lot of waiting around outside the crematorium.

Anything smart in a reasonably sombre colour you already have in your wardrobe will be fine. Doesn't need to be black or a particular style.
