What shoes and socks would you wear with these trousers?

I have several pairs similar to these, I am quite short so they are ankle lenght on me. Usually wear them with sneakers and in the spring I would wear invisible socks but I feel they it is no longer on trend to have your ankles showing?
What confy shoe do you recommend? I don’t like loafers on me

Come on, if we're going to go Bay City Rollers, she'd have to wear horrible platform laceups (also, the trousers would have to be an unfortunate tartan and have turnups). But I applaud your enthusiasm for past horrors . . . .

Just wear socks with the trainers you normally wear with them.
Or ballet pumps with socks.
I follow Clarainfante on instagram, she wears a lot of cropped trousers with socks and shoes.

The olive green ones are shown with loafers and look really nice

Pointed sling back (flat or heel - kitten heels are back but they shouldn’t be, so a block heel).

Or tall knee high boots. As long as the trouser hem well covers the top of the boots.

If your socks come up high to the knee, match or clash with any shoe or trainer you like.

You could match the sock to the colour of the trousers for a more streamlined look.

So with trainers you reckon socks will have to be long ones? Do you confirm invisible socks are now very 2020? 🤣

Apparently invisible socks are a no but I wear them with my cropped pants; I wore frilly topped ankle socks in the 80s and cannot go back there 🤣

Maybe these shoes (they do various colours and materials). Can't comment on socks as I would not be wearing them (the culottes) in cold weather.
