Hat/fascinator that works in 2026?

Situation: garden party. Hat or fascinator strongly recommended. I did have one I loved by Cherry Chau with feathers on wires, but I bought that about 30 years ago and I’ve noticed that headgear has disappeared from weddings. Is it possible to wear something like this without looking completely dated?

Probably going to wear purple silk maxi dress.

You need to go to a hat shop. You need to try it on and see how it fits your head and hair.

Pill box hats usually have a thin piece of elastic which you hide under your hair. If your hair is very short or very short layers it might show. Full crowns are easier.
