Dress for destination wedding

I bought this dress last year as I thought it would be perfect for a wedding that I’m going to in Greece this summer, the wedding isn’t going to be super formal. I thought this dress would be ideal because it wouldn’t show any sweat patches (hoping this won’t happen anyway, but it’s going to be very hot!), I also thought I could dress it up with some nice heels and jewellery. BUT I’m now wondering if it’s not dressy enough and whether it’s more ‘nice dinner’ vibes rather than wedding.

links to other outfits that would be great for a destination wedding would be appreciated. I’m 36, size 8 and 5ft6

I think it is fine for a wedding and it suits your shape well. What material is it made of though? Will it stay fresh looking or will you end up feeling a bit sweaty in the heat?

ccridersuz · 17/02/2026 20:25

As someone who retired to Greece, I’m going to say it’s perfect, dress it up with a nice bracelet or two and some nice classy sandals, I’ve travelled all over Greece since the 70’s and can tell you, forget the heels, in this heat you will not last long in them.
And unfortunately the place is not know for flat and even walkways, trip hazards, especially for heels are everywhere. (Experienced more than once).

its perfect 🤩

Thank you all! I was obviously over thinking it, I’ll stick with this dress for the wedding

Was going to add to this and also say it's fine.Lovely for a sunshine wedding.
I'd heed the advice about ditching the heels though. Pedicure and sandals imo.

I really like this dress. Especially for a wedding abroad.
