Not a denim jacket?

In the vain hope that it will ever stop raining - what might be a good, lightweight, everyday alternative to a denim jacket for when the weather doesn’t warrant a waterproof?

I’m mid fifties, tall and upper end of average weight. I wear mainly jeans or dark trousers with trainers or boots, and I live in a city. I’d like something I could wear to work in a smart/casual office as well as eg shopping at weekends.

I have this and love it to bits. It goes with everything. Not overly warm though and I haven't worn it yet this year because of the endless rain.

I tend to go with either an All Saints leather jacket, a trench coat or a khaki cotton thing. I also have a black denim jacket and a pale pink one. Tbh I still like my normal denim jacket too, for warmer days. It’s still winter coat weather here though, even on the very rare occasions that it’s not tiling it down.

Thanks, I’d never heard of a barn jacket but I think that or the short trench might be the sort of thing I’m thinking of.
