‘Cheerful’ funeral outfit

I am attending a family members funeral in a few weeks time. She was a fantastic age and had a peaceful with time to say goodbye, so whilst sad, this is very much a chance to celebrate a wonderful 97 years. She loved bright colours and cheerful things (everything could be categorised as either cheerful or miserable!) I want to be smart and respectful, but it is not appropriate to wear all black. I do have a smart black and white tweedy coat (link below) and smart wide legged black or navy trousers, but what top? How can I combine the black with ‘cheerful’ colours in a way that is still appropriate? I wear a lot of black or all my bright colours are far to summery!

I do not wear dresses or skirts, and will most likely wear the all black leather trainers I wear for work. I am mid 40s, size 16.. help, where should I look?

I tend to opt for a dress or top that’s floral but fairly small patterned, however if everyone is wearing non black is got bolder

From Monsoon. I have the pink one which looks nice with black wide leg trousers or a black pencil/tube skirt. I have my eye on the orange one too. One of them might work?

If everyone’s not wearing black don’t wear any. I wore a bright red skirt suit to my grandmas funeral as she would have wanted. I wished I had had time to find something even brighter or in purple 💜.

If you are wearing black or navy trousers. A floral blouse.

I went to a wedding last week where we were instructed - by the deceased before he died - to wear colour, no black. I wore this blouse and some smart navy trousers.

Thanks all- that’s given me some good ideas and new places to look. Monsoon looks like it has some appropriate stuff in- I love that orange peplum jumper!
