What tights?

I need tights for a work do (smart casual daytime) but have no idea what is current. I'm from barely black or high gloss age! Can anyone tell me what I should be wearing?

Also grateful for recommendations for supplies of tights to short fat women that last.

short fat woman here! I have no idea what’s current, but I really rate Better Tights. I wear their modal tights, which are quite pricey, but last really well - even survived when I took a tumble on the drive the other morning which totally grazed my knee, but tights were fine
