Wedges that don't rot/fall apart

I'm sure not to everyone's taste but I live in this type of sandal in the Spring /Summer, especially for work with dresses- they are closed toe wedge espadrille sandal.

I have them in lots of colours, loved the closed toe, they're comfy and I love the height and look. But basically (maybe the rainy Scottish climate doesn't help) they look like crap after a couple of weeks. The raffia frays and/or discolours. I have a gold pair from Primark that go with everything and I usually can get a pair for about a tenner on Vinted - but I would love a more durable option rather than replacing all the time!

Has anyone seen wedges (that maybe even LOOK like raffia/straw) where the soles/wedges are actually plastic-coated or some other fabric like cork? Or has anyone got an idea of how I can protect raffia against the elements and make them more hard- wearing?

Following as I have the same problem. The sole / heel seems to wear really quickly and then they unravel!

I know M&S normally do a cork style version which have lasted me years.

Next have done them in the past.

@OnlyFrench its the Next ones that I have had previously and have found them to quickly deteriorate.

Do you spray them with a waterproof spray? That will help keep them looking good.

Pavers definitely do a selection of summer wedges, including cork and plastic.

I wear some by a company called Castaner and I've been wearing one pair for every summer for three years and they're still looking great.

I have a pair from Boden that are still going strong after 5 years! They probably don't have any yet, but check in March/April.

Thank you everyone.

I wondered if Castaner might fare better as they're pricey and have a great range of colours but sadly they're too narrow fitting for me. I think Boden are also narrow-fitting but I'll investigate.

I'll also have a look at a waterproof spray.

If anyone sees any closed toe (but still sandal) wedges that fit the bill, please post links.

I've been calling it raffia but it's jute. The jute sole is the part that is unravelling/ looking scruffy - not the fabric uppers.

Hotter do this sandal in the summer. It doesn’t fall apart.
