Boxox placement - first time and unsure!

So I’ve just been for a consultation. She was nice and I didn’t feel pressured. I’ve seen her work on a family member and it looks great. She marked the placement and suggested 50 units with room for more if I felt I needed it at the week 2 review.

I am very worried about having a heavy brow after, my eyes are SO hooded already it would just look horrendous if they were droopier.

I have never had ANY kind of injectable or skin treatment. Is 50 units a high starting dose? Are the ones around the eyebrows going to cause brow drop? Help! 😅

(very hastily taken selfie included!)

Pic is under approval and obviously the title should say Botox. Off to a cracking start 🙄

Honestly as someone with hooded eyes who gets botox.

You dont need it yet. Give it 5 yrs

I started after 40 which is about right imo unless you have "unlucky genes" and are prematurely aged

NoArmaniNoPunani · 11/02/2026 13:56

Thats similar to what I have and it lifts my brow

Botoxbaby · 11/02/2026 13:58

You can’t really see the forehead lines in that pic there as it’s slightly blurry but they are there! That is mainly what I went in to address.

Have had a couple of people I don’t know well genuinely confuse me for a mid 50s colleague recently and someone guessed me at 45 (unsolicited guess! I am 36).

You haven’t got hooded eyes!

SirChenjins · 11/02/2026 14:04

Those eyes are not hooded! Who told you they were?

dollyblue01 · 11/02/2026 14:04

I’d just do your forehead this time and see next time, I wouldn’t do anywhere else, I’ve had it there before and it can be hit and miss if it makes it better or worse.
just go in slow at first with abit on your forehead and then maybe next time.

🧐
You look early to mid 30s and I'm judgy

They need to go to fucking specsavers.

my eyebrows are slightly lifted here so they don’t look as bad maybe? All my make up disappears under eyelid skin so I’ve always told myself they are hooded.

You don’t need any of it. Sorry I’m no help to you but you look lovely.

PandoraSocks · 11/02/2026 14:19

Op, you are really pretty and fresh looking. You don't need to mess with your face. You choice of course, though!

That’s really kind thank you! I’ve feeling very haggard looking after the comments IRL

I can’t have my upper forehead done as it gives me a heavy brow. I have it only between and slightly above my eyebrows. This always gives me ‘spock’ eyebrows which I get corrected at my 2 week review.

She did mention this was a risk and that she would correct it for me if it happened. Do you think I should avoid upper forehead? So scary to be stuck with it if it goes heavy!

I also agree with other commenters saying you really don’t need it. You really do have a fresh complexion. For fine lines have you already tried Tretinon? Similar to Retinol. Really great long term results.

Overtheatlantic · 11/02/2026 14:34

You’re very pretty and have lovely skin so I’m going to join the others and say you don’t need Botox. I would spend the money on a new top for spring or a pair of earrings - two things that cheer me up!

whattheysay · 11/02/2026 14:37

The ones around your eyebrows are for your frown lines in between your eyebrows they won’t make your brows droop.
If you’re having forehead botox you need the frown lines done at the same time or it causes a heavy brow so she’s right to do both at same time.
It looks like she’s placed the dots high enough up the forehead to not cause heaviness.
I think she should go lighter for your first time to see what you need, she will top it up if needed after 2-3 weeks, I’ve no idea if 50 units is light for her and what she uses

Allseeingallknowing · 11/02/2026 14:39

Why is it always young posters who don’t need fillers or Botox who post on here?

Pistachiocake · 11/02/2026 14:41

Your body, your choice. Since you're asking for opinions, I would be concerned about risks, and the cost of upkeep and looking false. I respect that for some people, the point is to look expensive and "done" and there's all the stuff about people wanting to look MAGA, and if they can afford it, then it's not my business, as long as women aren't being pressured (yes, I know men are too these days, but my whole life, I've seen women being encouraged to look a certain way, regardless of pain, time or hassle).

Presumably the people that post here are looking for advice, looking for reassurance, looking for opinions....

Do you have to be a certain age to post?

No but if you’re young why worry about having fillers and Botox ?

This. Stick the area you want to treat the most. Start with a low dose and do not do any other areas.

edit: I meant that I wouldn’t do the crow‘s feet as well….

edit 2: and you do not look haggard at all. You look fresh and very pretty! Do not listen to anyone that makes you feel like you need Botox. And you definitely do not look like you’re in mid 40! Was that person very young? Or someone that happens to dislike you??

Honestly, they are not hooded. Obviously it's your choice whether you have botox or not, but you have a young, fresh looking face and there's absolutely no need to put yourself through injections, pain and risk of it giving you an odd looking face. You look really pretty!

DangerousDolphin · 11/02/2026 14:51

I used to get a slightly heavy brow until I got to my current practitioner, and it really showed on me as I do have hooded eyelids .

I have forehead, 11 lines and crows feet done, but when she does my forehead she misses out the “outer third” - this gives me the perfect result and my eyebrows actually lift so that my eyes look much more open. On a different person I suppose it would case spock eyebrows, but with my bone structure (and I have a small face!) it works out perfectly. I also have some movement left and that is nice.
