Boxox placement - first time and unsure!

So I’ve just been for a consultation. She was nice and I didn’t feel pressured. I’ve seen her work on a family member and it looks great. She marked the placement and suggested 50 units with room for more if I felt I needed it at the week 2 review.

I am very worried about having a heavy brow after, my eyes are SO hooded already it would just look horrendous if they were droopier.

I have never had ANY kind of injectable or skin treatment. Is 50 units a high starting dose? Are the ones around the eyebrows going to cause brow drop? Help! 😅

(very hastily taken selfie included!)

What's your skincare regime, OP? I have fine lines and hooded eyes (actual hooded eyes, you can't really see my eyelids) and I have done well with a multi step skincare regime. I'm 50 and since I started taking care of my skin people usually guess my age at late 30s/40.

Edt to add: I am very surprised that anyone would guess your age at much older than mid 30s. You look great.

Rather than Botox, I’d consider a different hair cut. Maybe with a fringe?

Is the commute justifiable?

Hi everyone, it’s my first time posting and would love to hear your thoughts this.

I have twin girls who will start nursery school this September. We got accepted into our catchment school (2 min drive or 15 mins walk with my kids) and also a slightly further out rural village school (12 min drive + potentially parking on the street and then walk 7-8 mins).

The local school is a “good” school and has a 3 form entry. I did like it when I first visited but felt the staff were too busy to give individualised attention to all the kids.

Then we found this village school which has only one form entry and absolutely loved it when we visited. It’s much smaller and has a close community feel. But it is quite a hassle to get there, park and walk. I know it’s not a big deal but it’s also graded “outstanding” by ofsted.

I guess my question is, should I go with my gut that the smaller school is better for my kids? Or should I take the easy way and send them to the local school? It is a big commitment to drive them there back and forth, but thankfully I’m in a position to be a full time mum as my husband’s job can support the family comfortably.

On top of that, I just found out I’m pregnant with number 3, which we are thrilled about but it will make school drop off logically much harder.

Please I would love to hear from you all. Appreciate it.

I think you have posted in the wrong place rather than starting a thread @ByGoldHare - FWIW I’d go with the lovely village school and follow your gut instinct. Having worked in education, in a tiny one form entry like you’ve described, I would’ve sent my two to a school like that given the choice.

Op you have a nice face, there is no need for you to do anything to it at all. Dont risk side effects and save a few £.

Botoxbaby · 13/02/2026 14:02

Thank you everyone.

@bridgetreilly this was just hair back and bare faced for the appointment. I realise it’s unflattering and usually have some hair down around my face, not sure I could deal with the faff of a fringe.

@MsRumpole I am doing retinol every other night, a good under eye cream and moisturiser morning and night. Also have just started with daily spf - I have been inconsistent with it all up till just recently though so have yet to see any benefits particularly.

I could be wrong but I don’t think the placement would cause a heavy brow my understanding is that is a risk if you get it more to the outer side of you eyebrows.
the marked out areas are for forehead lines, 11’a and crows feet.

im a Botox lover and have been having it for more years than I care to remember I just love that it makes me look fresher. I personally like to have no movement on my forehead and as soon as I can twitch my eyebrows I’m counting down the days til I can get it topped up.
definitely speak to the practitioner half you’re concerned about brows drooping she can go lightly and alway add more at your review appointment.

I started early before my lines were established and now I don’t have any lines to speak of

Appleblum · 13/02/2026 14:21

Your eyes are not hooded and I don't see any lines on your forehead either. If it's your first time I'd do only 1 area first to see if you like the effects. 50 units do sound like alot. I did my forehead twice and used 10 units each time.

@Botoxbaby Ah! Yes I posted in the wrong thread! Haha my first ever post. Thank you so much for your insight. Appreciate it!

Can I ask how much you were quoted for this. I had this exact placement
botox for the first time 3 weeks ago and paid £310

PfizerFan · 14/02/2026 06:38

You look early 30s. Save your money!

Cosmication · 14/02/2026 06:57

Don't do it. You don't need it. I am 40 and my plan is to hold off as long as I possibly can and hopefully never have it at all. I think it's a slippery slope and I don't want to look unnatural. You don't have hooded eyes either - but even if you did they're not a bad thing, they're just a different look.

@FloridaCheese £200 for the 3 areas (I’ve seen her work on my sister in law and her friends and they don’t look overdone/obvious etc)

I have hooded eyes too and I have 3 areas - I’m not sure of anything more specific - and it doesn’t give me a heavy brow. I am having more this week and I’m also having a brow lift ( it was only £50 on top of my 3 areas ! ) never had one before so I’m very excited !

Mumsworkneverdone · 15/02/2026 11:30

Hi OP can I start by saying how great you look! I wanted to add I also hate having the heavy brow so my injector puts an extra injection above my eyebrows to avoid the angry birds look. It’s a tiny amount but means I still feel I look fresh , maybe ask her about this.
